Hexane (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hexane), a chemical solvent extracted from crude oil, is used in the production of soy products, including some of the most common ingredients that are consumed by non-vegetarians like soybean oil and soy lecithin. The soy factories are emitting tons of hexane, a toxic air pollutant, into the environment.
