As a participant in the 1930s student movement, his take seems like a decent place to start.

Thanks. It never really made sense to me how communism was some evil force that was un american, but somehow communists were filling the unions, youth organizations, art world, writers, and public works programs. The communists could win a election with 70 percent of the vote and they would still call it an evil russian invasion.

Still, the first national political organization for youth is overrun with communists!:laugh:
I wish that would happen to the NYRA.
