Thanks to Ken O'Keefe, after being betrayed by BBC on their false reporting's on the Flotilla incident, he's decided to take matters in his own hands by starting a news/activist site in order to fight against the propaganda that BBC smears all over the TV & web:

The BBC has false reported since it was created by King George V (IIRC), "Nation shall speak peace unto Nation" being its opening motto.

Why would you have thought it was ever unbiased?

Who said I thought it was never unbiased?

I don't know, its a very common thing that people say though, that it has unbiased world reporting (this includes the left). It's important to dismiss this myth..

That's what the new activist site is for. I don't believe BBC was ever unbiased. They may play off the "open-minded" status once every now & then, but that's only to keep people fixated.

That's what the new activist site is for.

Having actually opened the link, I find it unflattering. It states a bunch of stuff about a few ongoing 'anti-imperialist' movements and picks out a few stray comments in the BBC articles.

It completely fails to mention major things that the BBC has completely lied about. If you would like examples, Yugoslavia, Rwanda, its propaganda offensive against the miners, against workers on strike recently in tube disputes, on all kinds of industrial sites and the BBC's blatant hypocrisy there.

What is the point in correcting a few attacks on Hamas, Shining path, the Taleban and maybe a few other movements? How does that in any way show BBC bias in a way that would actually appeal to people, from the perspective of truly independent journalism?

I don't believe BBC was ever unbiased. They may play off the "open-minded" status once every now & then, but that's only to keep people fixated.

But the important point is, a lot of people around the world believe the stuff that they write, they are a major news corporation and to be honest, trying to correct what they write in a couple of articles about Israel, Peru and so on isn't going to change the minds of millions of people.

There are a lot of show-ups of the BBC online, but the site is just an unholy mish-mash of stuff which annoyingly doesnt load very fast and isnt astoundingly well researched, although there is some content on there which is maybe worthy of a glance over.

Articles like this, which are just pasted from the daily mail almost make the site seem completely amateur however.. http://bpc-world.co.uk/2010/08/yes-we-are-biased-on-religion-and-politics-admit-bbc-executives/.

The site just opened up. We can't start judging it just yet. We'll see where it goes from here.

It would be very good if the site actually pointed out every single error the BBC made with regards to foreign issues and home ones too. I would like the site to actually gain ground, but I think that his bias is really a little over the top, its content is focused more than 50% on Israel which is more than a little disproportionate to how much the BBC reports on the matter.

Do you know how to contact him?

What's sad is that the BBC is the best of the mainstream press too and that's not saying much.

This is sort of what I was talking about. The BBC does not provide news to a higher standard than American tv networks (they call themselves cousins with ABC News, they feature Charles Gibson on late at night to provide news from America on the BBC, and having read/watched ABC News, the bias is about equal).

For the most unbiased UK-specific news most people read local newspapers which, while a many are owned by conglomerates like Archant/Northcliffe/Trinity Mirror, can occasionally have writers sticking it out and supporting workers (one columnist expressed support for the lindsay oil refinery strike in the liverpool echo IIRC).

For world news, like vacant said you're better of with Al-Jazeera. Also, I would say the Guardian is generally a lot less biased when it comes to both, than the BBC.
