I was trying to find the right subforum for this, but I'm not sure if this is the one.

I was thinking about how to expand the our movement and then I came across the idea that: If we were to poll every American and ask them to choose between the word fascism and a very detailed definition of socialism (without using said word) they would choose socialism, but ironically if we were to give them a choice between the word socialism a very detailed definition of fascism (without using said word) they would choose fascism.

I find that the tea party exploits this strategy against us. They don't actually ever define socialism they just label their enemies as socialists. Pretty soon everyone is a socialist and the word socialism loses its meaning. Since socialism has been demonized by the government people tend to side with these tea parties over socialists. This enables them to do something distasteful yet clever. They simply state that Obama is socialist -- therefore the bailout is socialist -- so the socialists want to take your money and give it to the rich. QED. Of course we know that this isn't true, but this simple proof burns us and advanced the agenda of what is proto-fascism.

How do we strike back?
Lets make propaganda
Lets hear some suggestions

Question 1:

Define socialism (in 20 words or less without using the words socialism, communism, proletariat, bourgeoisie, ruling class, naming any famous communists or socialist countries)

Question 2:

Anti-Tea Party slogan (8 words or less)

Question 3:

What's a great image to display socialism's benefits? (You may describe an image if you cannot find it)

Question 4:

What's wrong with the truth that American's accept
What's wrong with what their definitions (feel free to be as longwinded or not as you will)
ie: Address lies about socialism, lies about capitalism, lies about history

Question 5:

Take a shot at capitalism (go for the jugular in 10 words or less)

Question 6:

Tell me why socialism is better than capitalism for the working man ( 30 words or less)

Question 7a:

Hit the worst parts of racism, sexism, and homophobia (no limit)

Question 7b:

Now explain how they're all related to capitalism (no limit)

Question 8:

Counter big time capitalist arguments?

By the way these are all elastic and arbitrary word limits that I've chosen, but just be sure to be close. I'm trying to make a brochure and I think it would be good to find opinions across the board and also I think that this would help other communists strengthen their arguments against capitalists. Also feel free to answer as many or as few questions as you would like. I will update this with the most effective responses and if you have suggestions for more questions the floor is always open.

Why don't you make your own propaganda then post it here and we'll see if we like it?

To be quite honest, I want to make it as effective as possible. And I would like to get the opinions of as many of my fellow comrades as possible. I could waste my time making something that doesn't appeal to anyone, but being that I have the most diverse communist community here, I thought that I would make use of that. Only together can we truly know how to bring the people into our movement.

Multimedia-type productions are fairly creatively and methodologically complex, depending on the complexity, of course. This can be a *good* thing, actually, meaning that for this kind of project you can approach it from *several* directions at the same time and make different "mixtures" based on what you've developed from preliminary efforts.

So that means no one should hold back here -- just throw in on content, layouts, design, illustrations, etc. -- think of yourself as a print-based DJ "mixing" material together....

Did you ever stop to think this happens because your a giving a detailed definition of one thing (Which will most likely include only the pros and no cons) and then just putting one word?

I mean, why don't you just put two detailed definitions of Fascism and Socialism and then let the person reading it realize it and make the choice to turn to the Left?

Warsaw that's not my point. My point is that Americans are inherently hostile to the words fascism and socialism because of the society that they've grown up in. However, many of them sympathize with socialist ideals (without knowing it) and likewise many others with fascist ideals.
