Which one did you grow up with/do you prefer?

Legos. I played with megablocks until maybe like the age of 5. There is only so much you do with a block the size of your head.

Lego is more progressive!

I find it funny how americans call it "legos". it's lego! both singular and plural!

I loved lego, awesome stuff, always made spaceships.

Lego wars with my bro when I was a kid. He made a nuclear submarine. not a nuclear-powered sub, a sub with fucking nukes on it. good times. also, digging the poll results.

Same here, which is basically oversized lego.

How am I the only one who voted MegaBlocks?

Those were awesome. They were big and sturdy enough that you could build forts and chairs and swords out of them. Ever try hitting someone with a Lego sword? That shit would just fall apart.

They weren't small enough to get down details in the same way as legos. thanks for ruining the perfect streak though:mad:

Lego had better stuff, always made cars and shit.

Lego was THE SHIT. I used to get fuckawesome sets, build them, then eventually take them apart and mix all the pieces in a big tub along with all my friends' Lego pieces. Thus, by pooling all our pieces together, we had a huge-ass selection of pieces, and we would build spaceships and would roleplay with recurring characters about epic fights between good and evil and oh god the run-ons keep going thanks for bringing my inner child out again.

I had Lego, but before that I had Duplo blocks. I would make a pistol, and then carry a bunch of smaller blocks, and when I wanted to "shoot" something, I'd aim at it with the pistol in one hand, and throw a block at it with the other.

In retrospect, it seems kind of stupid, but it was a lot of fun in my 4-year-old mind. :)

You're very welcome, sir.
Lego Star Wars is the shit. Definitely the coolest sets...I got a TIE Interceptor for Christmas and I put it together in 30 minutes. I want Darth Vader's Tie fighter...
I've always had Lego. They are an integral part of my life. I remember walking my dog with my brother down an alley and we found a giant treasure trove of Lego. There were pirates, cowboys, Harry Potter shit...'Twas twuly awesome.
And those working Lego guns? Mind: blown.

Meh, who cares about detail? If I wanted a little car I would've played with a little car, not blocks. Blocks are for building bigger, more awesome stuff than the toys you already have. Plus Lego are totally a choking hazard. :p

i totally got that very playset for my birthday one year!
I couldn't finish it 'cause half the fucking pieces were missing. Actually, it was only one, but it was one I really needed. Those dragons are pretty *ahem* beastly.

Lego. megablocks were cheaper in quality and didn't fit together well. (I'm talking about the smaller megablocks that were like knockoff legos.)

I fucking loved megablocks dragons when I was kid. I still have a 42x60x25cm toybox overfilled with the shit. Although it's covered with spiderwebs nowadays.

Though I have a tacklebox full of D&D miniatures, I've done that as well. There's also a wargame designed specifically for Lego: http://www.brikwars.com/

LEGO is winning all the time.

The guy who created the first LEGO toys was quite popular in his (small) hometown. He built a sports facility and gave jobs to people in his home district, even if he could have got cheaper labour by establishing the factory in a bigger town.
