For real this isn't surprising but I highly doubt the US is going to be a spanish speaking nation anytime soon, if anything we'll be as spanish speaking as mexico is english speaking. maybe a nice equilibrium will develop in the next century, kind of like on the European continent.

edit: btw, the immigration from latino countries, though obviously immediately from Mexico, is not at all strictly mexican. There are several Honduran and Nicaraquan communities and shopping areas I know of as well, for example.
