Hi, I'm having this annoying message saying I should make a post, so fine ;)

I've been reading the forum for a while now. There are quite some interesting users on it, but most of it seems petty infighting. I'm not interested in this. I'm more interested in discussing high politics: democracy, internationalism, partyism and the like.

I think we should unite the left to a united class party. It has been done before, like for the example the establishment of the CPGB in 1920 showed. We need another class party based on a Marxist programme, because, to be frank, if we continue in the sect and cult-like manner that we do, we will continue to fail as communists and anarchists as the wider working class will just ignore us and seek their answers in the BNP or EDL here in England, Geert Wilders in the Netherlands, Vlaams Belang in Belgium, the FPÖ/BZÖ in Austria, and so on and so forth. The far right flourishes because we fail to get our act together.

Another thing that I disagree with and amazes me is the, mainly Trotskyist, insistance of raising mere economistic demands, "bread and butter" issues, as these "connect" to the "existing consciousness" of the working class. Of course day to day struggles are important, but in my view they should be explicitly connected to a programmatical approach of bringing our class to power. In other words: the fight for democracy should be our main priority to emphasise. We should bring these political ideas into the class, that is our task as communists and anarchists. Focusing on "bread and butter" issues, expecting that from these fights the class will take political conclusions, is an illusion. I find it amazing that current day Trotskyist organisations focus on this, as this breaks with the tradition Marx, Engels, Kautsky, Lenin and others tried to establish.

That is not to say I'm inclined to the bankrupt ideas of "official communism", which proved so disastrous for the working class in Eastern Europe, Russia, China and elsewhere.

What else? I'm a supporter of the CPGB (PCC) which publishes the Weekly Worker. I'll post some articles that I think could be interesting and deserve debate.

I hope I can provide some useful bits to discussions.

Welcome :)

Much of Revleft is indeed petty wankery and point scoring. I do welcome your interest in what you call "high politics". Political issues are indeed very important to the far left movement.

An, as an aside, posts in the Non Political section aren't counted ;)
