Orthodox Oligarch Vasily Bojko-Veliky to His Subordinates - Get Married in the Church, or Get Fired!

A management order has been issued to the married workers of Russian Milk Company - until 14 October, i.e. the Protection of the Holy Mary Orthodox Christian holiday, they are obliged to celebrate their marriage anew in the Church.

The order refers to the baptised employees of the firm whom the management has obligated - besides the usual civil ceremony - to get married in the church. Otherwise the company will get rid of them.

The head of Russian Milk Company Vasily Bojko-Veliky has explained to the journalists of the Echo of Moscow Radio Station that he considers the abnormal heat which has engulfed the territory of Russia this summer to be a divine punishment for the sins of Russian people. And the wedding ceremony, according to the orthodox businessman, will help to alleviate a situation.

«For the baptised man to register his marriage in the registry office and to live unwed without the benefits of the clergy is an anomaly and abnormality. If the man promises to his spouse in the registry office to love her, to live with her together until death, to give birth together to children and to bring them up, the same vow he as the orthodox person should give before God either. It must be a norm», - the radio station quotes him as saying.

The businessman has added that all the married employees who will fail or won't want to get wed in the Church in time will have been dismissed by 14 October 2010 - a holiday of the Protection of the Holy Mary.

The Orthodox Oligarch

Vasily Bojko-Veliky heads the Your Financial Trustee holding which includes 30 companies, including Russian Milk which came into being on the basis of Russian Milk factory situated near Moscow).

The management order in question, entitled «the Address to Employees», is published on a web site of Orthodox «Russian Line» news agency.

Besides an obligatory ceremony of church wedding, "the Address" requires all employees to pass an examination in the obligatory course called «Foundations of Orthodox Culture».

It is mentioned in "the Address" that «all employees procuring or abetting the procurement of abortion are subject to dismissal via staff reduction».

«If a woman did abortion, she can be no longer the employee of our company. Abortion is a murder of the human being. We do not wish to work with murderers», Bojko-Veliky claims in the press interview.

According to the businessman, dismissals will not constitute an infringement of the Labour Code. «We will downsize the personnel positions these individuals currently hold work, rather than the employees themselves, and redistribute their duties among the remaining workers», he explained.

Just one more startling example of bigotry and far right traditionalism holding sway nowadays in "free Russia". It is interesting to note that this "pious business leader" is actually former criminal freed on the largest bail in post-Soviet Russian history, by the way.

Capitalists always like to use their "love of freedom" to take away people's actual freedoms.

Yes, and see the hypocrisy of the Western liberals. While Soviet Union existed, they claimed that after its fall the people of Russia, Ukraine and other republics will have complete cultural and ideological freedom. In reality, though, atheists, communists, feminists and other progressives are constantly harassed, denigrated and ridiculed by the Establishment and its media, while the State gives free reign to the most archaic forms of superstition and religious sentiment, proclaiming this to be a "restoration of our spirituality". All of this sounds very much like European Restoration of 1814 - 1848, and this itself is very depressing to all genuine friends of progress and social equality in the former USSR.

Really, freedom for liberals is in reality a means to an end. That end is capitalism under US leadership.

That means an interesting terminology:

Democracy = Pro-American government

Dictatorship = Anti-American government

If the Anti-American government is socially reactionary it is repressing the poor minorities.

If it is progressive and is keeping down reactionary groups, it is repressing the poor people.

That's true. But I don't think that their "Anti-Americanism" would make reactionary and traditionalist governments and movements less desplicable.

Some anti-imperialists think that.

Just look at people hugging the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Yes, they even forget that Khomeini was far more repressive against Leftists of all varieties and stripes - even Islamic Socialists from "People's Mujahideen" - than even the Absolutist regime of Pahlavis that preceded IRI.

As for Russia, it wouldn't surprise me if Russia in 20 years would be under the control of the orthodox church or at least reactionary fascists which are using orthodoxy to repress people. The west won't like that either. But without a powerful ally like America in the 90's, the EU will be quite impotent. And Japan don't care about how repressive a government is as long as its possible to do business with 'em.

Well, actually only the most backward elements of the society took on the "spiritual resurgence" genuinely. Most working class people do not care about religion that much, being largely agnostic, while the Progressive and even pro-West Liberal Russian intelligentsia openly ridicules Orthodox Church, comparing its "cultural policies" to the Stalinist ones.

As for the Russian Fascism, it is more racialist than clerical. Besides, many Russian far right supporters are Neo-Pagan, considering the Christianity to be a "Jewish ideology".

The liberal intelligentsia of Russia would probably start to fap if Russia is collapsing. They sincerely hate Russia and see most expressions of Russian and Soviet culture as "totalitarian evil". In short, they are what Republicans generally accuse Democrats to be.

Apparently Vasiliy Bojko really enjoys his new-found fame, so there`s more of this from him:

To the president of Russia, Mr. Dmitry Medvedev

Your Excellency, Sky expects you to decisively crush the godless ideology, bury Lenin's corpse, remove stars from the Kremlin, wipe out the names of the destroyers of Russia from the map of our country, for the wrath of God`s heat may last for three summers and you will lose the country.

I think a more pressing concern for a fascist Russia would be China.

If racist fascists took over Russia, i would wonder what would happen to the non white inhabitants of Siberia. I doubt China would take kindly to the exodus coming through its borders.

China might take it as a pretext, but I think they generally would accept a Russian fascist regime as long as that regime is giving them gas. Emotions is the last thing which is driving the Chinese government.

exactly, which is why they do not want floods of people coming in just like the way they treat North Korean refugees at the moment!
