Hi everyone

I've been on RevLeft for a while already, but I didn't post an introduction thread, so I will post it here now.

I'm originally from China and I now live in London, UK. I consider myself to be a trans-girl who is also partly genderqueer and a bi-sexual/pan-sexual. My political stance is mainly influenced by Trotskyism and Maoism, but there are also minor influences from other tendencies. (For more details please feel free to check out the "political statement" in my profile section) At the moment I'm not a formal member of any political party or organisation, partly because my political line is too "electic" for me to formally join any party, but I'm a supporter of (and work with) the Trotskyist CWI and SWP (UK, not American) and the Maoist MCPC (Maoist Communist Party of China) based in mainland China.

Apart from a general interest in every aspect of socialist politics and activism, my two special interests are the situation in China and LGBT/Queer issues.

As for conversational style, I understand that here on RevLeft low-level flaming/insults are allowed, but personally I don't really like them, so I'd appreciate it if people do not insult me or use flaming language as a response to me. But of course I enjoy a heated debate as long as there is good solid intellectual content involved and no personal insults or ad hominems, which in my opinion tend to ruin the actual quality of the debate. I'm happy to see that the majority of members here are not transphobic, so I do insist that I'm addressed as "she" by everyone here, and actually consider to be/treated as a woman. Of course, whatever that may actual mean in practice is up to the individual to decide. Sometimes I'm quite *****y so I apologise if sometimes some of you find me a bit annoying. I hope none of it becomes really personal or long-term.

I look forward to engage in discussions and debates with all of you here.

Better late intro than none ;)

How does your cooperation with the CWI/SWP/MCPC look in practice?

For the CWI, I mainly co-operate with Chinaworker (CWI China). I know the leading Chinese member of Chinaworker, who is a personal friend of mine. I've translated quite a few articles for Chinaworker. I've also donated quite a bit of money for Chinaworker.

Here in the UK, I've written for the Socialist paper (only 1 article and 1 comment so far though), and in the past I've done some campaign work (I was actually a CWI member for a while) in and around the London area, such as getting signatures of people to stop public service closures etc. I've attended the CWI summer school/conference in Belgium once in 2008.

I also have some contacts with the SWP here in the UK, I know a few SWP members and attended a few Marxism events. I have some online contacts with MCPC, and we've had some discussions over various political issues, but I've yet to meet with any mainland Chinese Maoist in person.
