Anyone know what post has been thanked more times than any other? Or the top ten? It would be interesting to take a look.

What about a list of the all time best threads/posts on Revleft?

That would be an interesting read.

Also, short post tend to get thanked more, I don't think a lot of people even read many a wall-o-text.

yeah thats what i meant with smart and simple;) like the one from freefocus, it has its sarcasm, it is funny, but its also a short smart and simple post.
The only people that usually thank long posts, are the ones making questions, and the posts are the answers.

I thank long post that make sense or shed light on the subject that is the discussed topic. But, then again, I probably thank one liners much more.

Usually the fall, from what I have gathered. That's when it happened last year. Oh, and if someone take up the responsibility of doing it.

Posting short, snappy, straw-stuffed, overly sectarian one-liners is a sure way to get mad rep.

Rusty Shackleford
18th August 2010, 07:25
and a great way to start a sectarian circle-jerk of thanking.

some tendency battles are fun though imo. good way to sharpen your skills/opinion.

Fall? I feel so backwards being Australian :(

You have spring when I have autumn and your autumn is called fall. It's fucking confusing.

I just checked, and I think the most I've ever got was 6 but with two more later on in the thread.

I would say that at some point in the contest, we should consider the ratio of total posts to reputation. Because I think this is a good way to gauge how people are doing in thanks as compared to the amount that they've posted.

im guessing most people are in the range of 30-60% thanked if they are not only posting important news articles over a long period of time.

Don't be like that. They make up for their bad spelling by making up new words.

AHAHAHAHAH when i used to live in Wisconsin, thingamajig was an everyday word. it was amusing every time even though it was commonplace.

I think my most thanked post is my contribution to the Communist Motivational Posters thread.
http://www.revleft.com/vb/communist-motivational-poster-t136530/index.html

I'm pretty sure those 2 posts gave Guerrilla most of their rep.

The most thanks I ever got was for a three-sentence post where I took the controversial position of condemning pedophilia. (!)

I actually think that thanks and rep have done the opposite of what they were intended to do. They were meant to encourage quality posts, but it seems that sometimes they work to encourage people to make posts that will get thanks/rep.

It's so irritating, because it's so transparent as well.

Does Gracchus make any posts on revleft at all these days? Most of his activity is just neg-repping. Btw, here's my most prized neg-rep from him:
