I have seen the documentary 'Videocracy' for some months ago.
This Berlusconi is creepy, real creepy. And his view at women.

Have anyone out there some scary stuff to tell about this liberal dictator?

I don't know if you can call it scary, but he has a couple of ex-neo fascists in his cabinet. Additionally one of the partners in his ruling coalition, the Liga Nord, views the south as inferior to the North. It use to explicitly demand the succession of Northern Italy from the South before the recent days. While they sugar coat their demands with demanding more autonomy or federalism for the north, it's no secret they view the south of Italy as a ball and chain for them.

Oh and he owns AC Milan. Really like the documentary points out he came into power controlling a significant part of the media empire and he uses that to his advantages obviously.

Liberal? I always thought his inspiration was Mussolini.

Berlusconi talks much about 'freedom'. Soemtimes it feels like fascism and libertarianism is all the same.

All Italians I know love him :D

When I went to Italy on a school trip, the guide asked us to make a prayer for Berlusconi. I don't know too much about his political views. I've heard hes sexist and neo-facist.

But how a politician can own a football club is beyond me. Hes a very rich man and he seems to have bought his political career as far as I can see.

Where to begin, the man has linked to cases involving the mafia, fraud, bribery, tax evasion, embezzlement, courrption. He has (contested) immunity (although it might have been overturned) because of his politcal power. He has introduced various laws to stregnthen his political position, his media empire and is allied with some very repressive people in regards to migrants.

I think scary is a more appropriate word than just creepy :(

That is some of the reasons he scares me.

I wonder how that man can live with himself. I wonder how his mother can love him!

When I was in Italy at the time, I remember hearing in the news about him having some affairs and one of them was with presumably an underage girl. Despite these scandals and previous ones which were un-earthed before the elections, he still in power.

Besides that, they say he's been cozy with far-right parties and perhaps helped fund one.

That's region specific.

In Tuscany, Emilio-Romagna, and maybe Marche they hate his guts.

He also owns the majority of the media in Italy; it's akin to having Fox's Murdoch getting elected in the US.

Liberal? I always thought his inspiration was Mussolini.

His party list is Popolo della liberta which translate to People of freedom.
He claims to be liberal and "more freedom loving" than his "communist" opponents.
Part of the reason why he's in power (and why his regime is quite right-wing as well) has to do with the regionalist Lega Nord which is a xenophobic pro-North Italy party which is popular in the North.
