Is there such a thing? I ask because quite simply, I seem to be able to not get addicted to anything. I know there are personlaity types that make you more prone to addiction to things, but are there ones that do the opposite?I mean I enjoy doing drugs, drinking, and smoking, yet don't feel at all different when I don't do those things. For example, I haven't smoked weed in like three months, I used to smoke every other day, but I don't have an urge in the slightest to smoke weed, though would gladly do smoke with a friend or what not. Or another example is that I have a pack of smokes in my car right now with 16 cigarettes in it. I bought it a month ago and smoked all four within the first week, I haven't had a smoke since. Similar story with alcohol, I'll drink like a fish for a short period of time and then, I'll just stop for months on end. So perhaps all theses thing aren't as addictive as they are made out to be, or maybe it is me? Thoughts?

I think some people are just more or less susceptible to addictions. I personally find that I'm more susceptible to craving certain substances (mostly alcohol and codeine), whereas some substances I can take or leave (such as weed, tobacco, and all other substances I've tried). I tend to use alcohol and codeine alone when I'm unhappy, and perhaps it's abusing them like that that makes them more addictive. If all you're doing is using drugs fairly sensibly for fun, then you're probably unlikely to get addicted to them.

I've got the same thing, I can stop smoking with almost not side effects whenever it's convinient for me, same thing with drugs and alcohol. When I broke my leg a few months ago I had to stop all my bad habits and didn't feel any kind of cravings or anything the whole time.
I don't think it's "anti addictive" so much as it's "non-addictive". I wonder if it's biological as well as psychological as well.

This strikes me as less of a "non-addictive personality" and more of a mild "binge personality." Just a thought.

I don't get addicted to things easily. I procrastinate, I spent way too much time on things that I want to, but I'm never addicted. I have habits aswell, but not addictions.
I think I have very good will power, when it comes to certain things. For example you can count on 2 hands the number of times I've had soda, alcohol, chips, ice cream, lollies or cake in the last 6 months. (Un?)fortunately, I seem to be less able to commit myself to my studies than my health...

I get addicted to activities - like reading or painting or the interwebs, but not really addicted to like things that are generically bad for me like sugar or alcohol or drugs and stuff.

Perhaps. I 'binge' on everything, from music, to sexual interest (man or woman). So maybe you are right.

I don't think weed is actually addictive, but I wouldn't know, since I've never tried it.
