I'm aware of things like SWP, ISO, the SP USA etc being actual organizations that you can be a part of, but are there any less known and more underground groups that are informal?

p.s. i live in new york if that helps

They seem to have a bone to pick with most people on this site

There are many left organizations. It depends what you are interested in or what you are looking for. In terms of Trot organizations the organization I'm in, Socialist Alternative, is in New York. The League for the Revolutionary Party (LERP) is another Trot group in NY.

The Brecht Forum and the New Space are Marxist educational centers and venues in New York. I'm not familiar w/the anarchist scene in NY but I think there's a lot going on. Check on one of the anarchist sites like infoshop or indymedia if you are interested

both WSA and NEFAC have branches in New York City. not sure what you mean by "informal" or "underground." both of the two groups I mentioned are formal organizations with membership, constitutions, etc.

1)RAAN has no "bones to pick" on this sight, 2)this sight is not indicative of the real world revolutionary left.

It would be easier to answer your question if we knew what you politics were? I mean, I'm sure there are organizations for all sorts of political thought in NY.

Ok, well I definately consider myself some version or brand of anarcho-syndicalist, but I'm relatively new to most leftist thought outside of a liberal-conservative paradigm(which is a joke). I live in western New York.

Well there is NEFAC (http://nefac.net/) and there is the IWW (www.iww.org (http://www.iww.org)) and WSA (http://workersolidarity.org/). Those are all anarchist/syndicalist groups who have (or at some time had) a presence in NY.
