Ugh my friend goes to an art school and it's full of pretentious hipsters... only one performance artist though

One of my high schools was an art school, with like visual art, music, dance and drama... the whole shebang. It was terrible there, hipster central. Skinny jeans and trust funds. I love skinny jeans though.

I saw that video on ED first...
didn't see it all but a part of it (initial monologue) reminded me a bit of a part of our university's recent play.
Eh, I was like whatever...it's shit but shit like this will probably still continue to exist.

o god please stop hating on art schools you haterz, not all of them are full of pretentious hipsters like these (they are full of hipsters though). Practical Design and DTP schools are mostly full of (though "special") working class people who instead of these trendy hipsters, also want to do something productive with their art and pay the fucking rent instead of leisuring of daddy's benelovence.
I love the part at the end though, where some douche screams; "YEAH! ART!"
I seriously had to make a preformance art/body art piece this year, but not something as inane as this (look at all those fucking spaced out looks in the audience, its like they're watching grass grow on acid). My piece involved alot of clothing-pins and the theme of la chinois . Instead of this audience i got very mixed reviews

You know, working class people can adapt the trapping of hipsters...
working class hipsters are likely not an oxymoron. All you got to do is deduct the trust fund part from the hipster equation.

I had already seen this one, as art i think it was terrible, however watching her struggle for two minutes was fucking gold!

petty bourgeois kids have no idea how to use a can opener.
my attention span ran out at 1:22, but I will have to come back and watch another one minute twenty-two seconds of it when it recovers.

hahaha and she kept crimping it or something as if it was a wire cutter or metal cutter.

Maybe it was an ironic piece, written by a working-class artist, who wanted to portray bourgeois children's lack of understanding of the real world (personified here by a tin opener).
Or maybe it was a load of pretentious bollocks. Who cares anyway? I can only safely say one thing; thank fuck I wasn't in the audience. At least I'm safely behind a computer screen where I can click off after a minute and a half knowing that I've saved myself from wasting another 5 or 6 minutes of my life.

I actually never watched the whole thing...I just fast forward it around and got the gist of the "story" in a few seconds. I knew from the part she open her mouth reciting something that it was going to be shit.

What the fuck happened to her usage of words? Did she forget her script and try and go metal vocals on it where you kinda just make noise and hope no one notices you don't know the words?

I dont know, maybe she was expressing her frustration at not being capable of even using a can opener.

So while they're going to shitty shows and doing 'stupid art projects' you are all on the internet talking about how stupid they are.

Am I the only one who's getting really pissed-off at the overusage of the word "Semiotics" in artsy-fartsy milieus lately?
Also "Interior Semiotics"? What the hell brah? It litterally means the "study of internal symbology"...
