Just wanted to say that. Thank you for your time. Please post any Futurama comments you deem relevant (which is basically any).

When it's on, at night, it seems to coincide with the time gap which I would be smoking pot.

I refuse to watch it because the commercials make it look like shit. I used to like Futurama.

Funny you should say that. One of the old ones I was watching included a bit with the newspaper "The New New York Post." Hm...Product placement maybe?

Also, I started watching them and was drawn in by the nostalgic effect of it, I guess.

Futurama is WIN. And I agree. Usually when they bring back a series, the new episodes suck ass. These are actually pretty good.

Revival

Since no new Futurama projects were in production at the time, the movie Into the Wild Green Yonder was designed to stand as the Futurama series finale. However, Groening had expressed a desire to continue the franchise in some form, including as a theatrical film.[69] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futurama#cite_note-Wired1-68) In an interview with CNN (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CNN), Groening said that "we have a great relationship with Comedy Central and we would love to do more episodes for them, but I don't know... We're having discussions and there is some enthusiasm but I can't tell if it's just me."[70] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futurama#cite_note-CNN-69)

On June 9, 2009, 20th Century Fox (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/20th_Century_Fox) announced that Comedy Central (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comedy_Central) had picked up the show for 26 new half-hour episodes that began airing in June 2010.[71] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futurama#cite_note-Renewal2010-70)[72] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futurama#cite_note-PressCentral-71)[73] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futurama#cite_note-Goldman.2C_Eric-72) The returning writing crew was smaller than the original crew.[74] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futurama#cite_note-Variety2009-73) It was originally announced that main voice actors West, DiMaggio, and Sagal would return as well, but on July 17, 2009, it was announced that a casting notice was posted to replace the entire cast when 20th Century Fox Television (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/20th_Century_Fox_Television) would not meet their salary demands.[75] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futurama#cite_note-recast-variety-74) The situation was later resolved, and the entire original voice-cast returned for the new episodes. The dispute had stopped the original actors from appearing on the Futurama panel for Comic-Con 2009, to the disappointment of fans.[76] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futurama#cite_note-75)

Near the end of a message from Maurice LaMarche sent to members of the "Save the Voices of Futurama" group on Facebook, LaMarche announced that the original cast would be returning for the new episodes.[77] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futurama#cite_note-76) The Toronto Star (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toronto_Star) confirmed, announcing on their website that the original cast of Futurama signed contracts with Fox to return for 26 more episodes.[78] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futurama#cite_note-77) Similarly, an email sent to fans from Cohen and Groening reported that West, Sagal, DiMaggio, LaMarche, MacNeille, Tom, LaMarr, and Herman would all be returning for the revival.[79] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futurama#cite_note-78)

Cohen told Newsday (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newsday) in August 2009 that the reported 26-episode order means "[i]t will be up to 26. I can't guarantee it will be 26. But I think there's a pretty good chance it'll be exactly 26. Fox has been a little bit cagey about it, even internally. But nobody's too concerned. We're plunging ahead".[30] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futurama#cite_note-newsday-29) Two episodes were in the process of being voice-recorded at that time, with an additional "six scripts ... in the works, ranging in scale from 'it's a crazy idea that someone's grandmother thought of' to 'it's all on paper'.[30] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futurama#cite_note-newsday-29)

When Futurama aired June 24, 2010, on Comedy Central, it helped the network to its highest-rated night in 2010 and its highest-rated Thursday primetime in the network's history.[80] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Futurama#cite_note-Gough-79)

Unfortunately, I don't think Comedy Central is putting up full episodes. You might want to try Hulu, or maybe find them on rapidshare or torrents. Unfortunately again, as per revleft rules, I cannot post links to rapidshare or torrents.

God, the new Futurama season is so fucking bad. I hope it does get canceled before it continues going down the path the Simpsons went, in terms of the quality of the jokes and the degree to which they are woven into the plotline, instead of being clumsy and seeming forced.

I liked the episode where they kept going forward in time.

Whoopsy!

It isn't that bad. Sure the first few were kinda bad but it's starting to pick up. And yeah them going forward in time was definitely the best one in the season so far.

I definitely noticed a vibe towards the end of the last season and in this new one of instead of offbeat humor, they were going for the 80's style cheap sentimentality that you'd often find on shows like Different Strokes or Family Ties or something.

I noticed the HBO series Extras went this route on their season finale too.

Incidentally, I was not very impressed with any of the Movies that came out in between season 5 and 6.

I tell ya, I don't care much for television, but occasionally I get drawn in.

They aren't like bad bad, I guess I give them some extra credit because the old Futurama was gold, and I wished they went on forever. I don't watch tv on tv anymore, so I hope they don't cancel it because I'm not watching it on tv.
