Hello comrades,
I am looking for a place to study psychology. Due to my grade average, I can't do this in Germany, so I'm thinking of going to another European country. The issue is, I'm not exactly sure which one I should go to. I have few savings, so living costs and university fees should be as low as possible. Countries offering English language courses would be prefered, but I'm not opposed to learning a new language.
In summary, I'm looking for European countries/universities with:
-cheap living costs and university fees
-easy to get into psychology courses
-preferably english language psychology courses, not a must
My personal favorite so far would be Malmo or Lund, Sweden, seeing as how Sweden has no fees for EU citizens, and afaik it's not hard to get into psychology there. Or any other place in Sweden, it's just that Malmo struck me as a rather interesting city. The issue here is, that I don't really know where psychology courses are available. Information on the fall semester isn't out yet.
I'd be thrilled to study in London, too, but the UK strike me as extremely costly, especially in regards to tuition fees. I guess I'd have to pay "home fees", but afaik they can get up to 3k, still. Though I think for some Universities in the UK, you don't have to pay the fees until you earn 15,000 a year, is this right?
Anyway, I'm glad to hear other suggestions!

Hello comrades,
I am looking for a place to study psychology. Due to my grade average, I can't do this in Germany, so I'm thinking of going to another European country. The issue is, I'm not exactly sure which one I should go to. I have next to no savings, so living costs and university fees should be so they are sustainable with a part time job I can work at while studying. Countries offering English language courses would be prefered, but I'm not opposed to learning a new language.
In summary, I'm looking for European countries/universities with:
-living costs and university fees that can be paid for with a student part time job
-easy to get into psychology courses
-preferably english language psychology courses, not a must

Have you thought about Lomonosov Moscow State University? it's the top university in Russia, very well distinguished in the sciences, and they have numerous agreements with American and EU Universities to study abroad there for 3 years and 1 year in NY, of which you'd then get two degrees from both universities:

It's not as expensive it seems, and it is easier to get accepted into the program, while still offering a similarly good education experience. Russia is pretty amazing too, the food is good (I refuse to budge on this lol) and the people are friendly, despite what you may hear, and you'd come back fluent in Russian, of which is in high demand for many jobs these days.

These pages should have all the information you need for studying in Sweden.

I dont know how hard the psychology courses are to get in to in Sweden, but from what Ive heard, its pretty hard here as well.
Other than that, I dont think youll be able to live on a part time job while studying. The rent for a student apartment is very high. Where I live, youll have to pay around 3000 SEK (320 EUR) for a not so good dorm room. As comparison, youre able to get around 8000 SEK a month in the form of both loans and student grants combined. If you want to study here, Id suggest you have more than a part time job.

Hm okay I think I may have misworded my OP. I should be able to gather the money to pay 320€ a month + living expenses, from what I've seen of Swedish prices, as the German gov gives some money as well, parents might give some, and I have _some_ savings. So around that cost level should be doable.
I'll look into that Moscow University.

In that case, it should be doable. Just be careful that you dont take on too much, so you dont get overwhelmed. Psychology sounds like a subject that requires a lot of time to study.

Scotland is half as cheap to study in than England (according to some, personally I've never studied in England so don't quote me on that, haha). You get tuition fee's paid first by applying to a Student Loans Company first, then you pay them back when you get work earning £15k or over. You can also apply for travel expenses and living expenses depending on your own or parent income, but I'm not too knowledgeable about what you need to do to apply if you are from outside the UK.
If your interested, here's a link to the Students Award Agency for Scotland (SAAS), they have a large chunk of info on what to do if your planning to study here.
