I think we need a subforum or sticky in the DIY section that would act as a resource for those looking to organize in their communities.
The sticky or subforum (although I'm leaning towards a sticky as it would be easier) would have links to non-profit legal and business related info as well as 'how-to's' from experience. There would be a list of examples- step by step guides on how current successful organizing has taken place.
The reason this sticky would be helpful is there are a lot of people looking to 'get a group together' and currently (as far as I know) there isn't a section on this forum dedicated to it. It's a big part of change and I don't mean that in a liberal progressive kind of way.
"How do those anarchists get large spaces down town to work out of?"
"Is it worth forming a non-profit"
"I don't want to just organize a group with similar interests- how do I identify a problem in my community and then organize with people around it?"
These are some of the issues that can be addressed.
I'm interested to know what you all think of this idea-
