Hello everyone, my name's Nin. It's not only my Username, but a nickname my father gave me when we lived in Mexico City during the mid-80s. It's nice to be at a place like this, and to be with such fellow Leftists. (Communists, Anarchists, Socialists, Trotskyists, Stalinists, etc.) I'm not apart of any Union or faction (here in the US), or anything like that, I'm always keeping myself open to what's out there. Though I do support them to some degree.

Personally, my viewpoints of the left, if you haven't already seen by my avatar, is I consider myself an Anarcho-Syndicalist or better yet just an Anarcho-Socialist. (Heavy on the Anarchism please!) I find this suits me, and that most people (the general public) find it hard to categorize a person such as myself politically since I always announce myself as Anarcho-Socialist. And most of the time they just say "Communist" since it's been ingrained into them since birth.

Anyway, it's great to be here, I'm not very good with introductions as you can see, but I hope to share more of my viewpoints with all of you, and you share with me. (I mean, that's the idea right. :D)

Viva La Revolucion!

Keep fighting the good fight!

Welcome :)

Why do you label yourself as an anarcho-socialist? Is it out of a desire to unite the left movement or just more that you happen to agree with certain socialist ideas besides your anarchist core?

Welcome :)

Thank you, and that's a good question. So to answer your question: Yes, I do think that by uniting leftist movements, we can achieve more like the Right-Wing has succeed so many times. (Not that their way of doing it was right, just their unification was solid, even though it was through horrible force, which I don't think is the key to true unification of the Left-Wing.) I see through history, and now, that the left has always been opposite of each other. There is always a outside force, or some sort of minor thing that just makes it so we are unable to come together fully as a strong unified force. I mean, as I see it, just having one ideal theoretical proposition for handling a nation, puts that nation at a bit of a disadvantage and sort of handicaps it. If we all sat down together, thought of the different sectors of government that could be best utilized by say Marxist way or Socialist way or Trotskyist way, etc. we would really have something.

Of course, where my Anarchist core comes in, is that government has little push or say on the average man or woman's life, since I believe people with common sense taught to them, or at least shown to them, or just have common sense anyway, can be self governing themselves and see how harming their small collective or union isn't just bad for everyone but them included. (I think people have to operate in a collected and stable ecosystem to survive with one another. Depending on one another to fully do their own work, so that everyone can go home at the end of the night happy, and glad to see enough food on the table for their family or just themselves if they don't have a family.) I see that self governance is really key to a successful unification of all leftist groups, not just the common man or woman because it allows for just enough movement between people; unlike the Right-Wing which is strict when it comes to self governance.

Also, I believe there should be no set laws like we have in the world, but general rules that are basically just Common Sense written down on paper. Such as: Killing a person for personal gain or money is wrong, Forcing someone into something they don't want is wrong, etc.

Welcome. Hope you'll contribute to easing the rampant sectarianism on RevLeft. Not to scare you or anything... ;)
