In the days of the socialist Afghan government, soviet workers were sent to Afghanistan to help women read and write, After CIA trained bin laden, and the CIA backed Mujahadeen, broke into a soviet compound, and beheaded a group of women and children, it became clear, that Islamic extremism needed to be stopped.

Even the old CIA director has now admitted to funding the Mujahadeen to topple the socialist government there, it was the Americans and the Islamists who struck first, and who plauged the people in Afghan.

Yet even on the left, the Afghan mission is called social imperialism, that is untrue, most people supported the gov and ussr troops, until the islamic extremists terrorised the population, and killed Afghans and soviets with American weapons.

The USSR did not want the pipelines or minerals or the hegemonic positioning.

when land reform was going about, the PDPD(i think its called) lost much of the support in the countryside because the US backed reactionary islamists were saying you couldnt get into heaven if you worked collectively or something like that. the us did a horrible thing to islam and the people of afghanistan in the 80s.

yeah, alot of US analysts said they thought the US were trying to say to the Islamic extremists that god was on their side, and thatholy struggle was justified, the thing is, now where as we used to have socialist national liberation, national liberation now, is nearly exclusively islamic, which is as oppressive as capitalism, when forced as law.

I remember seeing on AlJazeera palestinians spraying anti private property slogans on Mosque walls in a PLO/Palestine Doc, now, hamas are marrying off six year olds.

A fucking shame indeed. goes to show that religion is a very useful tool of imperialism. Even if the religion is not that of the imperialists' it can still be turned into the bastion of reaction like with the whole dali lama deal.

There are different strands of Islam, some are basically pacifist, others, seemingly collective, with emphasis on solidarity, then you get the disgusting reactionary, murdering, extreme version, which belongs in a fuedal Saudi Arabia.

But the reason you get the last strand, is because it rises out of the poverty and destruction of every Neo Colony, evey war torn land and every place, where foreigners, rape muslim lands and bleed them dry.

Having said that, anyone who views a woman as worth less than a man should be put to death IMO, i dont give a fuck wether their christian jewish Buddhist Hindu, or any other idiotic religeon, which is oppressive as fuck and is used to justify genocide.
