It's not that I adore the forum per se, or its debates or users. Really, check out my post count :D
But it's that, alongside an interesting debate or two, thee pops up a great reference to a pamphlet/book or anything like that.
And I get hooked. And follow the chain of reference.
For instance, I ended up reading parts of Harman's People's History of the World, various articles on libcom etc etc. I want to know and I want to be informed.

But that's a problem when you have a job to do.
Currently, I should be working on a translation which I was already paid for. It's boring as hell itself, but it's kinda alarming, such loose work ethics, I'll probably turn it in far too late :bored::bored:
On top of that, I neglect my college research paper which necessitates a considerabla amount of work. ( it's on Rushdie's Midnight Children). And finally, I've lost the passion for literature, obviously, since gaining such an interest in radical politics.
Hell, sounds like I'm whining like a child :bored:

Anyone else with similar experience...?

It sounds like what you are learning on RevLeft may be more meaningful to you than what you are supposed to be learning at school. This is understandable.

Maybe try to balance things. Set aside time specifically for Revleft, or Marxist history or libcom articles (I've gotten into reading Aufheben stuff, it is fascinating, although I'm a different "tendency" and I've read the Chris Harmon book after it was mentioned here). The rest of the time is for your obligations to Babylon. That way you'll be able more adequately focus your attention on what you're required to do and what you want to do.

The rest of the time is for your obligations to Babylon.Nice catch phrase :w00t:
MIA is a beast as well. Damn.
What is unfortunate is that I have to work using online resources
. And then all of a sudden this stuff kicks in. Oh well...

You can be suspended via user request for a short period of time if you so desire.

And why on earth would you 'lose your passion for literature' because of radical politics? Books are far more interesting.

This is exactly what happened to me, except it was way before Revleft.
When I was a kid of 13 or so I used to read a lot of books, classics, masterpeices, fantasy, sci fi, the HitichHikers Guide to the Galazy was my favorite.
then, at about 13, I got very into politics and current afairs ,read a lot of Chomsky and Zinn, they introduced me to Proudhon and bakunin, I haven't read a single sci fi or fantasy book since.

it's a shame, I do wish i was more entertained by fiction then readingabout capitalism, but it ain;t so.

truth is, reading about capitalism stired up more emotion in me then any fictional book.
