Sleep with a capitalist/executive/Ron Paul voter/etc.? If you would, is there a limit that would make it unacceptable ("I mean bro, I'd totally slap out that cute MBA student from the gym. But like, I gotta do it now right, because I think she will be an associate at Citi next year")? If you wouldn't, why not?

Im currently dating a very conservative woman. It's no big deal really, we get along well and when we hang out I can talk about things other than politics :P:laugh:

Debate sex?

People can have stupid politics and not be insufferable.

The wonderful woman I'm having a child with voted for fucking UKIP, it's not a big thing (I'm obviously not overjoyed) but I just don't talk about politics much with her.

I can't imagine why not. Did this warrant a thread in the main section by the by?

Dude, when there's a cute blond hair blue-eyed chick who wants to have sex with me, well, in that situation there's things I'd rather be doing than a class analysis.

If everyonne in thisw world waited to have sex with someone that shaired there exact political views--the population of the world would go back to stone age times in a generation.

'slap out' ?

I don't value politics and social justice as if it were engaging in a part-time elitist activity equivalent to putting on a superhero outfit and flying around with a cape and cowl. I don't believe the pull towards the other world that I see was learned- I think what was learned was the specific factual information others with the same pull have given us in the form of books, music, documentaries and conversation.

In light of this I can't be with someone and often cannot be close friends with people who are disgustingly opposite of what I am.

I don't think decent people need to be as involved as I am- but they at least need to have a few strong opinions that I agree with.

Hm. I had a few conservative / right wing friends in highschool, but generally it was rather interesting discussing politics. As long as you don't take it to the personal level, I think it doesn't harm the relationship too much.

What annoyed me a lot more are some of my reformist left wing friends, even though they were still on the okay side, since they're very committed and actively involved in a lot of fields. But jeez, their rejection of revolution or non-parliamentary-democratic political systems just got to me. With righties I could just tell myself they didn't know better.

This is the place to show pics of Communist Hotties--unfortunately the RevLeft KGB would take them down and give me an infraction for posting them. :( :D

Maybe, I'll do that in Chatter when I get back from playing golf.

What the heck is wrong with hot women? Or hot guys for those that are interested in them?

It is not objectifying a woman if she willingly posed for a picture. If he/she poses and guys or women want to look at that picture--it's no one's business but the poser and the looker.

Some people are just better looking than others--not everything in Communism is going to be fair no matter how hard you try.

Yea, but I'm not going to have SEX with anyone. I love my wife and am faithful and all of that. I just think you look pics of good looking women without being labeled a sexist pig and locked in a goulag.

I don't think anyone disagrees with that, I certainly will be the first to say that sex appeal is not sexism, not even close to it.

But when everytime a video of a woman is put up, making an actual political point, or whenever a woman is talked about, in whatever capacity, or whatever you make a comment like "hey she's pretty hot." At the very least you look like a douche bag, kind of sexist, and frankly, someone that does'nt get a lot of sex. I don't think that thats what you actually are, I think your juts trying to make a point, but its counter productive, because it makes you look actually sexist.

My point really isn't the pictures of the women. We don't even have cable TV in my house. It is just whole attitude of YOU CAN'T DO THAT IT'S SEXIST.

In my experience, it usually is the opposite. It's the only reason I'm in this shit!

No, really though, a lot of leftist women have rather "natural" style, which I'm rather fond of. Though of course that's bshit, both pretty and nice people exist on both side of the spectrum.

With friends or dating, I think it has less to do with overall ideological agreement and is more subjective. For me, it's like there are certain lines that can not be crossed. If someone is a sincere and decent person, then it doesn't really matter to me if they can respectfully disagree with me; or if they think that capitalism works fine and is better than the alternatives; or if they think a politician like Obama or some simple reforms can manage the system. But if someone belligerently blames immigrants or is racist or scapegoats people socially lower then themselves... a line is crossed for me and I find it difficult to want to engage them in debate or associate with them in any way. Or with the war, if someone has illusions that the US is trying to do good or they take the usual (and annoying) liberal line of - we can't just leave, then I can work with that and we can keep that debate civil. If someone is like: "Iraqis are incapable of self-rule, they are savage or crazy, or that Islam is inherently evil" and all the other vile propaganda we hear in defense of the wars - then I have no interest in talking to them.

I'm pretty sure this conversation took place before and ended with a restricted member leaving.

The point is that I don't really tolerate 'womanizing' or 'manizing' imagery that's been used to lure a demographic into a product or into the image set of 'cool'.

Why not. It's just biology. Most men are attracted to women of a certain body type and age. Most women have the same sort of attraction for certain men.

The reason these images work for Playboy otr for advertising is because of basic human biology. That's just the way people work and you can't fight that.

How am I an asshole for stating my experiences? Other people may see it differently. I acknowledge that. That's why I specifically said "in my experience".
