I'm going camping in a few and would really like to put the conquest of bread onto my kindle, free of charge like it is intended. Anyone know how?

That's the only free one I found, yeah. I found 7 non-free ones, from $0.99-$3.99; I assume they justify the price by including extra material.

I don't have a Kindle (I've been considering it since the first version... are you happy with it?), but I know you can put PDFs on them, and you can download everything from The Anarchist Library (http://theanarchistlibrary.org/) in multiple PDF formats. That ought to keep you busy after the conversation dies down 'round the campfire. :)

Yea I love my kindle its awesome. Books are cheaper on it and its thin and compact. I carry it everywhere. It's a lot of fun and easy to use because you can use the wireless connection to get free/paid books online right from the kindle.
