Watching him a bit and I notice that he comes across as very populist and mocks and denigrates both the establishment in the government and the corporate autocracy that is a result of private interest being in bed with government officials.

lol- I'm watching some of his clips and he is a bit of a wing-nut haha.

Thoughts?

Who?

Edit: Through the magic of the googles, I answered my own question. That guy. Well, MSNBC needs its wingnut stock to compete with Fox, right?

He's one of the better personalities in mainstream news. He's something of a progressive, he's filled in for Cenk Ygur on "Young Turks" a few times. He's also done some excellent pieces about the recession and the bailout.

Here he is talking about the Federal Reserve and the financial crisis. He's a tad melodramatic, but essentially he's just saying it like it is.

NGN, what do you think of Ron Paul?

I think he's generally a right-wing, lassez-faire conservative, typical of the so-called 'Libertarians.' I dislike him less than mainstream Republicans like John Boehner or Eric Cantor because he's more honest, and at least he believes in the rule of law. He's also against the War on Terror, he's against the War on Drugs, he's also in favor of, or rather not against, gay marriage, and generally against American interference in the affairs of other countries. Because of this he's viewed with some disdain, like John McCain, he's not a team player and the Republican party, especially the modern incarnation, put a high premium on ideological purity. He's something of an outsider. However, he's also extremely pro-life and completely in lockstep with the rest of the party about slashing all social safety nets, and privatizing everything, he might even be more vehement than most. He differs, however, in that, for him, this is an honest ideological position, whereas with the rest it's largely just thinly veiled greed and corruption. However, the result is the same. He also has one of the most conservative voting records. I think he's seriously misguided but probably well intentioned. I prefer him to the Boehner/Cantor/McConnell/typical Republican douchebag, but he's really just less unpalatable, which is hardly an endorsement. Anyhow, the threads' about Dylan Ratigan.
