so a while back i brought an "bakbrommer", an transportation motorcycle thats supposed to look like this:

well lets just say mine didnt, i basicly bought an frame with an licenseplate (wich are the 2 most important things, the frames are not being build anymore and its almost impossible to get an new build road legal if it doesnt have already an licenseplate).

So now its kind of an holiday and i'm finaly getting round to rebuilding mine, not that anyone will be probabily very interested but i decided to bore you with my progress none the less.

so a few days ago i started stripping, i decided to keep track in this thread only after i took almost everything off so i dont have an begin state picture but this is what it looked like with only the engine and a few other bits in place.

on this moment there is still an imitation honda 4stroke enigine in but then yesterday i bought this really (really!) sexy original 2 stroke honda engine (6 speed, watercooled, top speed quite above legal):

so today i took the engine and the lasts bits out and started cleaning the whole frame of rust and paint:

sadly it turns out that the 2 rusty brackets who are not original are very poorly constructed so i'll have to take those out and make new ones.
I'm an very shitty welder so now i have to wait till my mate who is an proffesional metal worker is back from holiday before i can mock-up the engine to see if it fits and start painting the frame.

but for now its first at least 3 days more of sanding and cleaning and elbowgrease..

shit son, sounds like a hell of a task. I've had this childhood dream of buying an old clunkermobile (just a random beat up unloved car), and fixing it up to be all environmental and functional. Sadly I have neither the time nor funds nor garage space for that right now.
The closest thing I've come to this is fixing up a scooter we found in a stream while doing some environmental damage control. (I'm talking this kind of scooter: here (http://www.microscooter.org.uk/micro-scooter/micro_scooter_bullet_1.jpg)).
Good luck and keep us posted!

P.S I can't see any pictures other than the first one of what it should have looked like :(

yeah its getting quite a project, but on the upside, when i'm done its gonna be one hell of a looker.
and finance wise i'm still OK, i'm down 500 euro's (frame, engine, licensplate) about now, still need to spend about that on other parts + license wich is still about the same price as most crap state second hands.
and becuase they are not being produced anymore, any money i put into it, if i'm ever forced to sell it i will get back.

Yup! Its more bare than I initially thought, its actually just a frame! Seems like a lot of work, have you done something like this before?

Nope, don't know jack shit about motorcycles, I used to build my own bicycles but that's about it. But my gf got an identical and I'm learning fast.
