La Macarena (Colombia); Largest common grave in Latin America ... (http://www.democraticunderground.org/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=405x38963)
Six Euro deputies, a delegation from the United States, Colombian opposition politicans (Piedad Cordaba and Padre Javier Giraldo among them) today (Friday) verified the existance of the common grave. Number ranges from 2,000 to uribe's government figure of 450. The graves are NN (No Names) with a number and the year of burial. (Numbers were once a person.)
Campesinos told the delegations Colombian army helicopters would bring the "false positive" cadavers there for burial. There are said to be other clandestine common graves in the area. The Macarena burial ground are next to an army base.

Remember, kids, FARC are the bad guys, not the government.

A delegation from the United States and Europe certified on Friday (july 23) at a public hearing the existence of a mass grave containing about 2000 unidentified bodies during a meeting with residents in the town of La Macarena in the department of Meta, in facts attributed to right-wing paramilitaries and the Colombian army.

Why hasn't this event of mass murder been on mainstream media? I hope it will.

It took many months to get the sole certification by foreign delegations of the existence of this mass grave. Uribe even thought of bombing the area. His latest trick was to create an atmosphere of war with Venezuela to minimize the importance of this atrocity.
Great, now I have that fucking song playing in my head again.

I think this massgrave would have been news in Latinamerican media, but it's unlikely western media would've talked about it, even without the diplomatic turbulences.
One way or another, worry about Venezuelan-colombian relations are always news since they can discredit Venezuela.

why would capitalist media try to bring to attention an event that makes capitalist interests in Colombia look bad?

...army helicopters would bring the "false positive" cadavers there for burial...So the cadavers were dressed as FARC members if I understand corrctly? I mean there was a big scandal earlier in Colombia called "false positives". The government killed civilians and dressed them as FARC members. Killing FARC members is a part of the contract of the US military support for Colombia. Uribes brother also used to be a paramilitary leader or something. He killed many people in the department of Antioquia with Alvaro Uribes permission (he was the governor of Antioquia back then).
I'm still not a supporter of FARC but there is no doubt which is the most evil.
