Who are the high-profile radicals of the future? Who do you wish was secretly a revolutionary? What current celebrities will become radicalized during the next upsurge in struggle?

I was going to say the working class, but then you threw in the word celebrity.

I think it would be hilarious if Glen Beck ended up a commie of any sort.

Yeah, sorry Doc - this is chit-chat time! I guess I should have said "what individuals...".

Lindsey Lohan is gonna join up with bash back.:lol:Ha. I was thinking Lohan too now that she's doing some time. Maybe the "barefoot bandit"... better yet, bat-boy.

I think the real question is which radicals will become celebrities during the next upsurge?

Also, Lady Gaga.

Alicia Keyes has stated shes an anarchist, but shes sort of a lifestylist, and she often talks about equality and justice, so she'd join up.
the bands REM, Radiohead, RATM (duh) and Muse would probably join up.

Considering that they are both like sixty years old, that's not likely. Also, who gives a shit about them?

"Anarchy entails overthrow of capitalism? FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-"
Something along those lines. Silly celebrities can never be commies.

No they can't, and that's because they're famous and silly.

This thread reminds me of when people say they have a friend or family member who "is gay, but he just doesn't know it yet" ;)

Rob Zombie and Marilan Manson. Hell, he talks about justice for oppressed teenagers and he has a picture of Stalin in one of his music videos and I think he has a Stalin hat.

He probably only has the Stalin stuff for the shock factor. Doesn't he also have a tattoo of a swastika on his head?

as long as Morgan Freedman OR edward norton are on our side, we are good to go.

It'd be interesting if Quinten Tarrantino became radicalized...Communism with Kung-Fu Action!

I think it'd be brilliant if all the Hollywood liberals realised the hollowness and became committed Marxists. There's no telling how valuable George Clooney could be.

Shock factor, plain and simple. Don't take it as any sort of a clue to his potential radicalization (although I bet that you'd like to see the Stalin camp growing in numbers and well known members, wouldn't ya).

But you don't realise that you're a radical yet? Then why are you on a far-left forum?

And Mollymae, that was Charles Manson

Mmm...George Clooney...
Anyhoo.
If Morgan Freeman and Edward Norton joined up, we would be saved.
And then there's...wait for it... Chuck Norris!

Pfft. Not highly likely. Penn Jillett's such a narcissist/intellectual egomaniac I think if anyone presented him with an idea he hadn't already thought of he'd probably just dismiss it out of hand.

As far as people who are probably already really radical but not too over the top about it, I'm going with Sean Penn, Benjamin Bratt, Marion Cotillard, and Matt Damon. I'd like to say Martin Sheen, but as per his 2003 interview on the show Inside the Actor's Studio he had been arrested 72 times for protesting various and sundry things so his politics aren't exactly a secret. Oliver Stone is sounding more and more like a socialist these days, but nobody takes that fucker seriously anyway.
