On February 21, 1848, the House of Representatives (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_House_of_Representatives) was discussing the matter of honoring US Army officers who served in the Mexican-American War (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexican-American_War). Adams firmly opposed this idea, so when the rest of the house erupted into 'ayes', he cried out, 'No!'[31] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Quincy_Adams#cite_note-parker-1848-31) Immediately thereafter, Adams collapsed, having suffered a massive cerebral hemorrhage (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cerebral_hemorrhage).[32] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Quincy_Adams#cite_note-widmer-2008-32) "can it be said that john quincy adams is the least worst american president (after william henry harrison)?

I'm supposedly directly related to him. (Which makes me also related to John Adams and Samuel Adams).
I have mixed feelings about that fact. On the one hand, S. Adams was a badass firebrand, J. Adams was one of the few founders who didn't own slaves and was strongly opposed to the institution, and J.Q. Adams did have a pretty cool death. On the other hand, though, they were all kind of assholes.

I remember hearing that Samuel Adams turned into a total douche after the revolution, squashing worker's revolts and such, which is ironic since he was the revolutionary and then he turned into the oppressor.

Yeah, he supported the suppression of Shay's Rebellion (the American Revolution's Kronstadt).

He's a very distant cousin of mine as well.

I'm not related to him, no. Although, on my dads side, I am very distantly related to actor that plays the dad of Draco Malfoy in the HP (Harry Potter!) films.
EDIT: RedAnarchist and Explosive Situation must be brothers!!

Yay! I have (extremely distant) family on RevLeft!
I need to visit my ancestral homeland of Britain someday. Even though my family line hasn't been there for about 350 years.

No. Lincoln is better than the least worst; he's actually quite remarkable, maybe the only decent president.

I agree with this, Lincoln should be viewed positively as a great bourgeois revolutionary who ended the neo-feudalism of the south and sowed the seeds of capitalism.
