This beings with the piano, sounding as if we caught it midway through, throughout the song we're missing something, lines are cut short, just enough for us to not fully understand the lyrics.
When the piano begins I forgot I was listening to Radiohead, I didn't even know it was them at first, then this voice gives me a fright, I have no idea who it is, it was unexpected.
What's he singing about? Is it a suicide letter? Is he a terminal patient saying goodbye with a videotape? "I can't do it face to face..". It's like he's spending this last perfect day with his loved one, knowing he wont see this person again "This day has been the most perfect day I've ever seen".

Second up, this haunting song, always used in the backround of an irish child abuse ad.

Definitely my favourite singer-songwriter, and an influence on the music I write.

Some good ol' Goth Metal tunes. I do listen to lots of other stuff than Metal, I just had to expand the horizons of this thread.

This one is a classic. Its 'sadness' may be subjective, always nearly brings a tear to my eye.

But... this one always brings a tear to my eye, no fail... although I've always thought the Sax at the end spoils it (cuts the tension, hah)
