If you thought you heard it all with capitalism.....the stupidity just keeps coming. This morning the mayor of Newark NJ, Cory A. Booker said that government employees will have to bring, get this cost cutting tactic.....THEIR OWN TOILET PAPER TO WORK LOL LOL LOL. And to top if off, people within his party are rationalizing it, the Idiot on the street interview with the very people whom our fellow radicals say "we can learn from" the romanticised worker responded with "well, government has to cut back, we all have to sacrifice".and my favorite..."government workers are already making more than the normal worker. their pension and saleries are what is causing these cutbacks." :scared: yeah, we can learn so, so much from them.

Wait I don't get it, what you're saying is that we can't learn from the average "worker" on the street? This post went from making fun of the Newark government for cutting back on toilet paper to mostly just expressing open contempt for reg'la-ass people.
Thank god you're hear to tell them how unenlightened they are!

Austerity is silly and even mainstream economists will tell you that. They hurt demand.

you don't see the bigger picture, do you. When working people go along with cuts, rationalize attacks on their own class, and view a human right to housing, food and medical care as not being such, but condone it being reduced to a commodity, which means if you don't have the cash, then die, what can you learn from them? I know, they are well educated on what is going on with various movie stars and who they are dating, what the stats are of various baseball and football players, how to place in a competitive eating contest, how to come in first in a chickenwing eating contest,I'm not joking about this. two years ago at 5am the Philadelphia Eagles had a pep rally mixed in with a chickenwing eating contest. 25,000 showed up, parents kept their kids home from school. 10,000 could not get in which almost turned into a riot. That week there was a demo against high home heating prices, only 50 showed up, so tell me, What can I learn? I want to learn, I want to be informed. What can I learn from this bunch of politically Illiterate over weight gluttons.stop romanticizing "the workers".see thing as they are, let go of your Illusions.

Illusions are all we have; for example, this forum. (Before a mod banhammers my ass, allow me to explain.)
You are coming onto these forums telling us to "let go of" our "Illusions," whatever those might be, of a working class that is something other than "politically Illiterate overweight gluttons." Yet, you aren't really talking to anyone, are you? You'd be living in an illusory world if you think that shouting on a message board is productive.
Leftists exist to educate the working class, regardless of whether we're of anarchist or Marxist-Leninist persuasions. Those who want to learn something on their own volition are already not cut from the same cloth as the "politically Illiterate over weight gluttons." The rest, we have to inform. It might be a Herculean task, possibly even one of Quixotean scope, but that's what we have to do. And it requires legwork. So basically, you're preachin' to the choir, bro.

Of course not. Why would the CEO be at work? It makes no sense for the CEO to work, he just gets others to do it for him.

CEO's don't use toilet roll, they usually have enough Business type worms around them licking their backsides clean. Why are we talking about CEO's anyway? Its a Mayor who did it and its government workers who have to suffer in this cruel, inhospitable, toilet paperless working environment.

Next we should convince the peasants that it's not slavery if we pay them £5 an hour- they'll think it's democracy. Yee har.

You're not the first person to come on this board thinking that leftism was a nice cover for blatant elitism. That's the liberals though, you're in the wrong place.
There's such a thing as class consciousness, and it waxes and wanes. It's been waning here for a long time. This doesn't mean that it won't or can't bounce back, but that also depends at least in part on what we do to spread the message.
Seriously, if you have so much disdain for people simply because class politics is at a low ebb, then just become a liberal. You can still feel superior and holier than thou, and look down on all the stupid proles.
You certainly don't know what it means to be a radical.

Tell that to the so called "socialist" groups that shit their pants when it comes to really putting forward a REAL radical program to people. and one more thing, lowering your standards to accommodate the low standards of the people leads to one thing, mis-education and reformism.not revolution.

What the fuck are you talking about here? Who said anything about lowering standards? The point is, you have to keep the standards high and agitate from that perspective. If you just get bitter and discouraged about agitating to people whom you hold in disdain, that impairs your ability to do so.
There are plenty of groups that put forwards very radical programs, so I'm not sure what you're talking about there either. What is "REAL" to you? Lifting your nose to people and calling them idiots? Or making the effort to try to educate people and bring them around without acting like an arrogant prick about it?
I don't think you even know exactly what you're ranting against here. You don't seem to have a realistic view of what the struggle is today and you certainly seem to be ignorant of what radical groups are doing day-to-day. Frankly you sound like an angry teen ranting about all the idiots you see around you and looking for a place to vent your frustration.

how can you say that leftist exist to educate the working class when the "leftists are scared to put forward a real revolutionary program to the working class for fear of chasing them away. putting forward these same old tired bullashit demands of "jobs, affordable health care, affordable housing" lol lol are liberal demands. that isn't marxist or revolutionary.transcending this system, demanding MORE free time and less work, telling the people how we can produce an abundance of goods but working less IS a revolutionary program. NOT demanding more jobs which is calling for MORE work place deaths, Illness, stress and less time for oneself and family.and yes, sharing Ideas on a message board[not shouting as you claim] is productive, it's called CONVERSATION!!!!! simply because you don't like what is being said, Don't try to insult and dissuade a person from speaking their mind.

First off do not misconstrue passion for anger. next, for conversation sake, tell me, what is the struggle today. next, I guess ALL the meetings that marx and Bakunin attended where they argued for hours, they were acting like angry teens, and when he refered to the behavior of backward workers as "rural idiotcy" he was acting like an arrogant prick too. it's always been the same, people that speak the truth get attacked.

OK, first of all, calm your shouting, belligerent ass down and realize something: you can yell from the mountaintops all you want about the workers being stupid, but all people on this board will do is shrug their shoulders and go back to what they're doing. Why? Because we already know pretty damn well what you're talking about.
You think none of us haven't faced the same frustrations? The "oh God, these people are fucking stupid" moments? No, we have, trust me. The difference, seemingly, between you and the rest of us, is that you have worked yourself into a "passion" about the (again, to quote you) "bunch of politically Illiterate over weight gluttons" to the point that you seem to have cultivated a real hatred for them. Also, 9 is one of the more productive posters here, I suggest you sit down, shut up and take some notes. Otherwise, you're just stirring up shit for the fun of it.

yeah, his post shows it. lol lol next, it is people like you that bring back bad memories, of going to forums, meetings, and when a member of the audience, or worse, a party member makes a comment that is contrary to that being voiced by the party hierarchy, he/she is quicky told to be quiet. so, let me get this straight, you fight for freedom and democracy of the people, and then you say to me "sit down and shut up" lol lol tell me, how can people like you say you want to free the working class from economic. social and intellectual domination, then act like a tyrant.

here is the same old behavior among the left. you voice an opinion that is contrary to the party hierarchy and it's automaton followers, and what do they do, resort to reverse mcCarthyism.it is people like you that find a haven in a fixed dogma and organizational hierarchy, and it takes the place for creative thought and action. how the hell can you revolutionize society when you can't even revolutionize yourself.

OK, dude, let's be honest, despite the name of this forum, it's still JUST a forum. It's limited in its capacity to be "revolutionary." Except in the case you're talking about here, the shame is that person probably isn't just stating the obvious truth, or at the least is suggesting some sort of practical approach based on said obvious truth. All you're doing is whining about it and acting like you're some seer of hidden knowledge. You're not.
'Round these parts, what constitutes a "point" in a discussion is rarely simply stating a very common and obvious problem, it's talking about it constructively.
You're not being silenced, stop it with the unwarranted self importance already.
