Occupation forces target PFLP in Beit Furik
Occupation soldiers conducted a campaign of arrests targeting leaders, members and supporters of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine in Beit Furik village near Nablus, and kidnapped nine residents, seven men and two women, including recently freed prisoner Comrade Linan Abu Ghoulmeh.
Mayssar Itiani, a Palestinian prisoners' activist, reported that the occupation forces invaded Beit Furik at 2 a.m. and broke into several homes. They invaded the home of Ayman Abu Ghoulmeh, who had been released from Israeli prisons only one month prior after 4 and one-half years in occupation jails, kidnapped him, and confiscated his father's identity card.
Comrade Linan Abu Ghoulmeh and her sister, Taghreed Abu Ghoulmeh, were also kidnapped; Comrade Linan was released in October 2009 as part of a prisoner-exchange deal. Laith Abu Ghoulmeh was also kidnapped by the occupation forces from the Abu Ghoulmeh home, while elsewhere in Beit Furik, Sajed Abdul Latif Mlitat, Mos'ab Mlitat, Hani Abu al-Saoud and Hamada Hanani were abducted and their laptops and mobile phones confiscated.
Linan and Taghreed are the sisters of Comrade Ahed Abu Ghoulmeh, sentenced to a life term in occupation prisons after he was kidnapped along with Comrade Ahmad Sa'adat, the General Secretary of the PFLP, as well as Comrades Basil al-Asmar, Majdi Rimawi and Hamdi Qur'an, from Jericho prison on March 16, 2006, where they had been held in a Palestinian Authority prison under U.S. and British guard following the PFLP's assassination of occupation tourism minister Rehavam Ze'evi on October 17, 2001 in retaliation for the occupation assassination of PFLP General Secretary Abu Ali Mustafa on August 27, 2001 in his Ramallah office. Linan is also the widow of Comrade Amjad Mlitat, assassinated by occupation forces in 2004.
