Leftwigg.com (http://www.leftwigg.com) has been launched. It is a news voting website like digg. It already aggregates some popular left feeds. Feedback appreciated.

Its a great idea, hopefully it will get some level of popularity.

I'm not too familiar with the layout of Digg, but the layout of this website seems quite bare to me and could maybe do with "sprucing up" a bit.

Is the website updated? My rss feed hasn't received news since 22 June.

There were teething problems during testing but it should be okay now. Make sure you resubscribe to the feed too because during testing it was at leftwigg.com/pligg/

I don't like that you have to register to comment or to vote on stuff.

Comments by non-registered users tend to have more trollish stuff, so I would hide them per default, but inform the user how many comments by non-registered users there are and everybody could see them with an additional click.

Wanting a voting option for non-registered users is a more controversial request I guess. Repeated voting by the same person can be limited somewhat by recording IP address and browser used. The weight of a non-reg vote could be less than that of a reg-vote, there could also be a limit for the weight of all non-reg votes together relative to reg-votes.

You can get picky about your contributors later, when you have some.

It's now aggregating over 50 different feeds.
