Seems like a lot of people who take a great interest in leftist ideology devote a chunk of their time to reading and studying it. How often do you all do things that reflect your political ideologies?

I read all the time. Unless I talk to a fellow worker, I read every break/lunch I get. Putting it into practice is hard in such an anti-union/labor workplace, but progress is being made. Ever since I got my sabotage-cat tattoo, it helps open doors for political and economic discussion. Fanning the flames of discontent ;)

Recently, almost every single waking moment of my daily life is spent reading, writing, or thinking about leftist things. I'm still in the early stages of a survey of revolutionary thought and I'm finding it absolutely exhilarating (and disturbing, given that I live under the biggest capitalist system of all). My hope is to soon find (or form) a group with which to actually start acting toward tangible advancement of worker interests. I wish I had done this earlier in life.

I have been studying so a lot of books. I have the free time to do so.

I read about this kind of stuff about 20 minutes every other day. Anymore than that seems beyond my mental capabilities for some reason.

I almost always have a leftist text open when I need it. so far, I've completed reading most of Bakunin and Trotsky's works, I've read all of Thomas Sankara's works, and trying to finish up reading on Marx.

since I understand so little of it, I want to start reading on Maoism next. I still have much to learn there.

I read leftist text online when I can, but to be honest I go through phases of reading heavy texts for a while, and then I just leave them for months and then return back to them.

I would like to read more, but I have many other interests as well, and I am always having backlogs when I read. For example, I am currently reading two books at once, and once I was even reading four different novels at once to try and get through the books quicker.

As a sociology student, I don't have much time to read stuff outside of my schoolwork, so I'm behind in all those books I bought.

I make a lot of youtube videos but to say they're communist is a bit of a stretch

You lot are all so studious! Every day?! I feel really bad now...

I don't read political texts - not out of some type of anti-intellectualism, it's just that most of the content of these great works have been woven into novels/plays/poems/films and I find this much more pleasant and inspiring to read. And I mostly study (German) literature so I come in to contact with these literary texts much more often. One day I'm sure I'll start wading through the leftist canon but I have to say, it's not something I'm particularly looking forward to :( there's a question though; do you think it's absolutely necessary to specifically read about/study leftist ideology in order to have good politics? Am I failing as a leftist if, say, I haven't read Marx but I have read Brecht?

This except I'm a philosophy student. I read leftist works when I can, but I'm kind of a renaissance woman so leftist readings are amongst lots of fiction, physics, philosophy readings as well as many DIY projects, and a so called "life"

I go on binges of research.
Primarily when I've got that dank on lock.
So stereotypical....

A decent amount per day. I'll read articles that are related to my current studies, usually found in Marx's/Trotsky's Literature. Given my erm...youthfullness the most subversive thing I can do is make Youtube videos :p

Not as much as I like. Sometimes I meet up with a radical reading group- which is great way to get divergent perspectives and talk about how to ground theory in day-to-day organizing and action.
