Ok, so something recently just hit me:
Conscious, leftist socio-communists are quite rare. Certainly there's a large portion of people who are subconsciously socio-communist in their political views, but the small minority of us (i.e. everyone here on this website) is very small in comparison to the total population.

So, what is everyone's personal views on this? How are you supposed to cope if your significant other is aware of her political standing (e.g. she follows politics and actively understands what's going on, so you two clash politically but no where else.)?

I don't have this problem namely because I don't have a significant other, :crying: , but I was just wondering how you guys here get along with that.

I have trained myself to become a machine of communist propaganda, everyone who comes within 20 feet of me and withstands at least 10 minutes or conversation with me is instantly endowed with a Marxist understanding of the world.

this is an invasion

I prefer to hang out with people who aren't really political.

I'm in a relationship, my partner is a socialist. I'd get bored out of my mind if I couldn't talk about politics with her. Sometimes it's nice to just share cold hatreds over a warm cup of coffee.

But I'm a romantic like that.

I like politically minded people but I do not like people who's minds are only occupied by politics.

My gf is pretty open-minded and I've been slowly bringing her to "our side." I'd say she's still left-liberal, but when she asks about commie stuff she doesn't seem to have a gut "Ugh communism" reaction like most people do.

I have more religious conflicts with her than political. I'm a pretty strict atheist and she's agnostic, but again very "open-minded." She absolutely hates it when I act "narrow minded."

I would personally hate it if my s.o. was conservative or something, but I don't think I'd be able to date them in the first place in that case.

Partners? Significant others? Did I hit a worm-hole and everybody else is thirty years older than they were before?

So, what's new? Keith Richards ever die?

I'm a bit similar...I don't bring up politics much anyways in my conversations with others. Although my political views are no secret, I'm still able to present it in a way where I don't come off like a wierdo.

I don't really aim to "convince" people into anarchism per se (although it would be nice if I had more IRL friends who saw things similarly).

When I do talk politics, usually brought on by others,...it always seems odd because it always seems like they don't get me or get the big picture. I tend not to get in depth when talking with people who are not leftists...usually I only stick to valid criticism of current American politics, the economy, etc which tends to be a subject (criticism of status quo) I rarely am not beaten at/wrong.

You don't ever just say really inflammatory things in a group just to see how people will react?

Ever?

my current girlfriend isn't a leftist or a rightist--she is aware of communist theory and worker struggle, but she says she rather leave such things up to me (whatever that means). She talks very little of politics, but is rather religious and influences me quite a bit there in that department.

I have dated a complete wealthy girl in the past, and it ended with me calling her the most horrendous of names because I couldn't get over how anti-worker her entire existence was. her father was a property developer--probably the evilest occupation in the bourgeoisie class, as I can promise you, her father wasn't building schools or charities. (he worked with a firm that was designing luxury apartments out in the northern part of the East Bay).

I told a prospective girlfriend that Obama was just another bullshit politician who should be thrown on to the trash heap like all our other rulers - but I think that nearly rid me of a future girlfriend.

My girl is somewhat apolitical, but she does understand why I hate capitalism, fascism, etc. as she does as well.

I do hear alot of:

'You say communism one more time I'm gonna slap you.':bored:
'You really had to get a flag THAT big?!'
'Why do you always have to wear that shirt when we go out in public?'

LOL.
