I've been working on some concepts for left art work, since the imagery of male workers is very easy to find and see how other do it. I can't seem to find much if any women in left art work, chinese seem to have had some propaganda stuff with women about all i could find.
I want to know how would you like to be portrayed in art? I want the ladies here to give me a little help please.

No different than the men.

Are you looking for example photographs that capture females in working hardship?

Are you looking for ideas to combine and paint onto a canvas?

Can you tell a little more about the work in progress? Else ueful tips will be kind of hard.
You don`t hvae to take over left iconography, you can change other iconography into uch or just use as reference. Deviant art ist full with ressources as a start.

How is having a woman in a piece of art delicate? If itīs not obviously sexist there should be no problem with any feminists. ^^

Well then With no.Mute is obviously asking about what would be considered sexist or not. Any experts care to espouse the proper etiquette on this matter?

if you are basing your art on the situation of working women in reality, then just look at... reality. I mean how can portraying reality to reflect conditions be sexist?

I won't speak for other women, but I personally would like to be portrayed as beautiful but also a strong willed fighter. I usually end up portraying myself as a tragic existence.

Ilya Repin's work was realistic.

Millet's painting The Gleaners (below) was condemned in France for its realistic depiction of women of the lower classes.

Dorothea Lange's depression era photography was also based in the reality of the times.

Migrant Mother is her most famous work:
