Ive just come across a book published by Seix y Barral in 1939 (I think), edited by the propaganda office of the CNT-FAI, which contains (awesome) pictures from mainly Barcelona around the time of 1936. From what Ive gathered, Seix y Barral is a mainstream publishing company right now, but on the back of the book, it says "I.G. Seix y Barral, Empresa Colectivizada, Barcelona", which, according to Google Translate, means collectivised enterprise, or something to that effect. Im curious, does anyone know anything about the Seix y Barral during the revolution in Spain? All information I could find was in Spanish, and its kind of hard to search for information in a language I cant speak. I would guess that the workers simply collectivized the company, and enlisted its services at the CNT-FAI, but it would be cool with some more info, if possible.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, many private enterprises were collectivised during the 1936 revolution in Catalonia. Usually the name didnīt change, they just added "collectivised" to state that it was run by the workers now. Agriculture, car manufacturing, wine production, ... there were many collectivised companies of all kinds. The communists destroyed all that, and either gave them back to private owners or transformed them in communist cooperatives, run by the goverment (or by a private owner on behalf of the goverment). Unfortunately, all the information I have is either in Catalan or Spanish, I will try to find info in english.
