I like this quote by Mark Twain but can it really be found in the Bible ? What I mean is does the Bible both in the Old Testament and in the New Testament say that in Heaven or in the Afterlife the HereAfter all we will be doing is praise and sing to and worshiping God and Jesus Christ ? I think Christopher Hitchens said Heaven sounds like Hell to him.
Most people can't bear to sit in church for an hour on Sundays. How are they supposed to live somewhere very similar to it for eternity?

I don't think the Bible states what heaven will be like.

Given Christians believe that heaven exists outside of the material realm and is a state of closeness to God and eternal bliss, it is pretty safe to say that few regard it as an endless church service.
Come on you are hardly going to motivate people to join your religion by promising them that!

Or it can be argued that it is the new manifestation of Eden.

Argue as you will-THE BIBLE doesn't speculate.

There is some speculation as to the final struggle and the erection of supreme grandeur of New Jerusalem. It will be designed with fine stones, paved with gold, and illuminated in the security of the Creator.

In heaven, it's the angels, not the spirits of dead people, whom the bible says are praising God all the time, singing with joy, saying hallelujah, etc. (Psalms 148:2, Psalms 103:20, Job 38:7, many more.) The most famous example is when the angels announce the birth of Jesus and say "Glory to God in the highest...." (Luke 2:14)
There is a name in Christian theology for a "praise" expression. It's called a doxology. A particularly famous doxology is the ending of the Protestant version of the Lord's Prayer, not used by Catholics - "For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory...." (Luke 11:4 and Matthew 6:13) But these words aren't spoken in heaven -- they are the words of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount.
By the way, I'm an atheist. I'm just one who has a great memory for useless details.

Is that Dawkins own website? What an odd narissist: he has more of his own quotes on his list of chosen quotes than from any other person.

Ecclesiastes 9:5, the concept of the immortal soul is'nt actually teached in the bible, it became part of christian dogma much later due to influence from platonism.

I doubt you'll see Arafat unless there's a sudden zombie outbreak.

BUt actually, the Bible does describe how heaven is in the book of revelation (using Jerusalem as a metaphor). frankly, it sounds like it'd get boring pretty fast unless the tree of life was a marijuana bush that gave off weed hat was 80% THC content:
Revelation 21:9-27 (New International Version)
11It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. 12It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. 13There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south and three on the west. 14The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. 15The angel who talked with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city, its gates and its walls. 16The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia[a (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation+21%3A9-27&version=NIV#fen-NIV-31054a)]in length, and as wide and high as it is long. 17He measured its wall and it was 144 cubits[b (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation+21%3A9-27&version=NIV#fen-NIV-31055b)] thick,[c (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation+21%3A9-27&version=NIV#fen-NIV-31055c)] by man's measurement, which the angel was using. 18The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass. 19The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, 20the fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.[d (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation+21%3A9-27&version=NIV#fen-NIV-31058d)] 21The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of pure gold, like transparent glass.
22I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. 24The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. 25On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. 26The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it. 27Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.
