The video was an added attraction- the main point is the IMF meeting this fall.

The video was one of the worst I've seen btw.

oh good, another event where several thousand people will march around complaining to the imf, the black bloc will get their smashy on and for 2-3 weeks everybody will whine at each other before forgetting about it.

I like this and not because it's a humorous defeatist attitude but because it prompts the question 'What are we going to do about it?"

So, I'm seriously considering going to this. It's going to be on a weekend. In terms of protests, not necessarily in terms of revleft strategy or whatever, but strictly as a protest, is it worth going. I mean, is it likely to be a good (large) demonstration?

EDIT: And I happen to like that Jay-Z song (although Kanye kind of ruins it at the end).

i'll probably salivate/laugh at the riot porn (depending on the quality of such), maybe troll a couple of the inevitable arguments over "tactics" and then gradually lose interest and resume my usual routine.

I say go for it, can't hurt and it's something that might actually do something other than writing on online forums that only radicals use... either way it'll be an experience and you'll meet good people. no real telling how the turnout will be, but if your interested check out http://imfresistance.org/ where you can also sign up for the listserve to get up to date info, so that once it gets a little closer you can make up your mind. and hey they already have mass housing so you got a place to crash, which is nice. if you do decide to go good luck.
