What kind of Country do you guys Consider modern China after the Deng Xiaoping reforms of 78? Is it a "Communist country in a political sense" or is it a "Authoritarian regime"

From what i see Modern china is Communist in name only. Any bits of Socialism left in China or for a fact Vietnam?

China is an Authoritarian Capitalist phony Socialist country. The Deng Reforms sent China into a Downward Spiral back to Feudalism.

Authoritarian state, but I can't say the future is certain for this kind of state for China. Yes, the economy is "growing" - but at whose expense?

If the boiling point is reached I'm guessing China will end up in internal ethnic conflict (Tibetan, East Chinese, the Hans, all of whom could have their supporters) or a united workers "internal overthrow" of the now authoritarian state.

And as I understand it, the Chinese people have not forgotten Mao... ;)

Over the past few years there's been a major revival of Mao, both by students and labor groups opposing the Chinese state, and by the gov't itself, attempting to coopt "neo-Maoism". I know people who feel the Chinese economy is still in transition, not fully capitalist. Recently some industries have been renationalized and its difficult to tell. Indirectly though most sectors in the economy seem to be in private hands and the system seems to be one of a highly complex crony capitalism.

Corruption is on a massive scale.Something called the Chinese Communist Party still runs things, but the CCP is essentially two rival patronage networks. On the local level the Party exists as organized graft and extortion gangs.

There's some good info on the situation in China

Chinese Communist Party believes in Communism about as much as US Democratic Party believes in Democracy.

Unfortunately, it is now the sweatshop of the world. China's "miraculous economic growth" in recent years has only benefited the compradors, corrupt officials, local capitalists, and foreign plunderers; China is state capitalist.
