I'm a member of the SWP in Limerick and I'm due to get a batch of leaflets next week for a public meeting that's on in a couple of weeks. Now,while I've done leafleting a few times before,it was do with referendums and wasn't actively trying to get people to turn up to something.

I want to do more than simply putting leaflets up because I've seen how ineffective this can be.I've decided I'll be approaching taxi ranks and drivers there individually in particular as I know from experience that they are a group of people who feel strongly about economic issues.

What other methods do people know of to help bolster attendance?I'd be open to any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

You could try to leaflet at meetings, but you might want to see how your party feels about that (http://www.revleft.com/vb/swpers-behaving-thuggishly-t138234/index.html).

Otherwise I would suggest markets, schools, train/bus stations, big companies and other places that have big numbers of people.
