These, plus Behemoth and Amon Amarth.
Also, EyeHateGod/Crowbar/CoC aren't really "Extreme metal" imo but that's just being nitpicky.

They are if you count Sludge Metal, but I can see where your coming from.
What are some good albums by Behemoth? Right now I only have Grom and Conjuration.

Their albums after those delve into DM/"Blackened" DM but it's awesomely brutal nonetheless.
My favorites are Satanica, Thelema.6, Demigod, The Apostasy, and Evangelion.
Basically, all the newer stuff except for Zos Kia Cultus, didn't like that one too much.

These are the only two you listed that I listen to. Slayer rocks, though. I'll check out some of the others.
Also, isn't the frontman for Burzum a neo-nazi?

^ Yes. Too bad a good portion of BM is influenced by fascism. Although it isnt as popular, there are some anarchist and socialist BM too.
I love most types of metal, except doom. I listen to a lot of Death (especially Symphonic) and Thrash (preferably Teutonic/aggressive). I'll listen to the occasional black, grind, post, etc. I like a lot of the fusion/sub-genres as well (crossover, thrashcore, crust, and a very small amount of metalcore/mathcore)
Overall, metal rules. And especially bands who overuse tremelo picking :thumbup1:
Lately I've been listening to: Eternal Tears of Sorrow, Sodom, Destruction, Emperor, Death, Carcass, Liturgy, Kalmah
Morgon - French anarchist black metal <3

Maquette (http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=82DEB459E70459CB) (Demo)
Louder Than Words - Russian anarchist blackened hardcore (not strictly bm, but oh well) <3

If you are looking for socialist (REAL) death metal then check Subvertor (their 1999 album). I heard about them maybe seven years ago.
Hands down and hats off to this band for creating the best (metal) song dedicated to :che:.
(cant post links, search them on MA and check their web)

No, but he (the sole member of the band btw) adheres to an ancient pagan ideology, which, if we can trust what he says, includes various "eugenic" practices such as racial purity, infanticide, "supernatural selection". He also views races hierarchically.
These seem to be obviously morally reprehensible views, but I'm not too sure how to form a rigorous argument as to why. Overall, I would say that I like the guy. He is opposed to hate in general, is anti-capitalist, and has a scientific outlook on life. And besides, we should allow for free discussion of all ideas (imo, anyway), even the nazi-esque ones (as a fan of Mayhem and Slayer I assume that you personally can handle such ideas quite well).

I recently started listening to Nachtmystium - black/extreme metal definitely isn't my scene, but I've really dug some of their stuff. And before you ask - they've already soundly refuted the claim that they have any neo-Nazi associations.

So he's a scientifically minded pagan who is opposed to hate but believes in racial purity and racial hierarchy.
You're trolling, right?
Also, Mayhem really are satanic whackjobs but Slayer aren't satanists or Nazis or anything like that. They just use very grim imagery because it is a show, like a horror movie in music form.

There is nothing contradictory in the points you just put together - it is your prejudices of them that make it seem this way (are racial ideas necessarily hateful? is having a pagan -ideology- (i.e. in terms of values etc.) really contrary to being of scientific mind?
I am very aware that Slayer is just a show (portraying the bad guy, as they put it) but I know some people can't even handle that stuff being joked about. My point was just that sometimes it can better to voice the other side of things, whether the party is sincere or not.

Belief in racial heirarchy is for one, not scientific at all so I doubt he is scientifically minded, and for two, it is hateful because it puts races above eachother. It is fascism.
And paganism does not necessarily mean someone is not otherwise scientific but paganism itself is not scientific.

Napalm Death, Gorgoroth, Dimmu Borgir and Hate Eternal are the biggies on for me on the extreme side of things. I also like Nile, Sepultura, The Berzerker and Strapping Young Lad, but I don't have enough of their albums to count them as my favourites. I love Megadeth, but I wouldn't say they were 'Extreme' :p

I would think that the majority of views people hold are "not scientific". Should we not hold views until they are proven scientifically? Does holding an unscientific view make you unscientific as a person? You're going to have to be more rigorous with your argument here (also note that a strict hierarchy is used more as a metaphor).
Why is it hateful? Why is it fascist? I'm not too sure what it actually means to say one race is "above" another, but it doesn't seem to be necessarily hateful (nor does it seem to be tied by necessity to a fascist ideology).
And paganism does not necessarily mean someone is not otherwise scientific but paganism itself is not scientific.Well it would be hard to be very scientific in itself given that it predates modern science by thousands of years, but that doesn't mean it's incompatible.
I'm aware how off-topic this is, so if I should stop this discussion now let me know.

It means to think one race is superior to another. It is commonly found in Fascism and it's related ideologies (Nazism).

That interview with the dude from gorgoroth was awesome, he just looks at the guy and takes a drink.
Did anyone see the documentary Metal: A Headbanger's Journey, specifically the Norwegian Black Metal mini-doc?
the same guy gets asked why so many people associate black metal with satanism, he pauses, then says "because black metal is satanism"

As far as BM is concerned, one great, possibly my favorite, band wasn't brought up.
Nocte Obducta.
Unlike Varg Vikernes with his neo-nazi bullshit and satanic Euronymous, these guys' lyrics are just that - poetry (it's all in German, but a friend of mine translated some of it for me). And their music is unbelievably superior to most of the bands' in the genre.

No, the poster you were replying to was not trolling. Varg, on the other hand.
Anyhow, Eyehategod were actually the first metal band I listened to, so that was an interesting experience. While nowadays I tend to prefer early Psychotic Waltz ('A Social Grace') and such to extreme metal, bands like Vinterland are still pretty great. Don't listen to much death metal, though.
I generally don't count most classic doom as extreme metal, but I had been into that a lot for a bit, and still listen to quite a bit of it. Stuff like Black Hole, Child Saint, Pentagram, Saint Vitus, Scald, and so on. Among more recent bands, I quite like Dantesco.
