Right, thats me now finished in the space of two evenings not only Band o Brothers but Saving Private Ryan as well. For some reason, i'm back into WW2 drama, guys with guns shooting other guys with guns on screen etc. I'm not overly concerned with the politics about it while watching.
So with that in mind, any recommendations for war drama/action? Series or movies welcome. WW2 preferred.

Naw, 'Nam movies are where its at.
Apocalypse Now, Full Metal Jacket, etc.
Because of the nature of public opinion on those wars, they show less of a rah-rah kill them ____ attitude, but they're still pretty brutal.
Also, you'll learn an interesting fact about the jungles of Vietnam, they always magically radiate either jimi hendrix (usually all along the watch tower) or that one song (war, uh, yea, what issss it good for...).

The Thin Red Line (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Thin_Red_Line_(1998_film)) is my favorite war movie.

Wanted Man

Patton, but you've probably seen that one already.
(edit: I suppose it's not really comparable to the kind of war films you're looking for. But it's great anyway)

don't watch the pacific if you expect it to be anything like band of brothers. there's like 4 combat scenes in the entire series.

Also choppers tend to play this song all the time.

You probably already know about the Pacific. same makers as Band O brothers (which was awesome) with Tom Hanks and all, same style, same very hard to keep track of characters.
I liked "Enemy at the gates" (Jude Law) russians vs germans, stalingrad.
of course you've already seen "the hurt locker" but if not: do.
"Jarhead" (gulf war) was very good, not really a war movie though.
