Without America Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Korea, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Cuba, Guatemala, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Greece, Russia, the Baltic countries,Pakistan, Diego Garcia, Columbia, Angola, Mozambique, Puerto Rico, Liberia, Lebanon, Indonesia, East Timor, and the Philippines would have been much better places to live with higher standards of living. The US has done highly destructive well documented "interventions" in these countries which has made much of the world almost unlivable.

These are direct political military interventions and doesn't include the more indirect effects of US based global capitalism.
