View Full Version : Return of the Fascist Blackshirts in Italy?

It seems that Right Wing vigilante groups in Italy, soon to receive limited Government sanction to report crime, are sporting very overtly Squadrist and Fascist insignia.

Daily Mail News (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1193111/Italy-revives-Blackshirt-vigilantes-fears-Fascism-sparks-investigation.html)

Not-So-Crypto Fascism has lurked among Italian politics since the end of the War, but this more overt step is creating real worries of a return to the Squadrists of the past.

Thoughts?

I never saw a more embarassing clown outfit in my entire life. It makes mall guards look good.

Clearly you've never seen electro-dancers before...

Why is it that your posts on current affairs are by and large in reference to the most marginal tendencies which tell us nothing about the order of things today?

Yes, marginal tendencies (http://www.revleft.com/vb/anti-fascists-hell-t133930/index.html?t=133930)...

Why is it that your posts, by and large, always rely on personal attacks?

Oh great, more practice for the Italian antifa.

I like his patch on the right sholder--any philosophy or ideology that requires you to read an explaination of who and what some guy represents on some patch--is problematical to say the least. :D

Their childish political programs say nothing about how the world works - that is, how systems like finance capital (http://www.revleft.com/vb/character-finance-capital-t134412/index.html?t=134412), business cycles (http://www.revleft.com/vb/2010-economic-downturn-t136191/index.html?t=136191) and the media (http://www.revleft.com/vb/weeks-fun-fact-t136328/index.html?t=136328) work.

It's like discussing the rantings of Glenn Beck and Bill Maher when there are people like Ben Bernanke and Lloyd Blankfein to criticize.

Nobody is forced to discuss; and I believe there are enough people here who like to be on par with shit like this. These are obvious symptoms that something is wrong and, if anything just serve to bring more awareness to restricted members.

Fair enough. I'm just urging you to look into more of the systems in question, is all, as its kind of disappointing that you have strong opinions on market theory, but you don't seem particularly interested when it comes to news regarding the mores of contemporary finance, media, government and their interconnectedness.

I don't see why people equate fascist with anything that looks like a 1930s military outfit, these guys are just neighborhood watch guys with corny outfits.

This isn't new...I heard of these people back in 2009.

They're mostly limited to North Italy. It's a little interesting that the place with the most communist organizing (since it was the place with the most industry in the nation) in the past has now turned xenophobic and right-wing.

These people don't exist elsewhere in Italy to my knowledge, especially not in Central Italy (where the most 'left-wing' provinces are).
