In Marxist terms, the conflict waged by the masses of the workers and the oppressed against the privileged, oppressive, and property-owning ruling class. Their ownership of the means of production and exploitation of workers is what makes this conflict inevitable.

When socialists talk about class, the talk about it the sense of social science. (Social) class is a way of describing how people is categorized by social and economic factors. Classes, in the leftist view always stands in contradiction to each other. That means that what favors one class, disfavors another. The classes, or parts of the classes fight for their interests. When leftist advocate class struggle, they mean class struggle from the working class. The capitalist class also practice class struggle. To make it less abstract you can view it like two football teams struggle against each other to win.
But to understand the class struggle, you also have to understand the conflict between different classes.

Everyday. You see, let's say a factory owner spends $10 for plaster. The worker takes this plaster and makes a $250 bird bath. The worker has added 25 times the value of the initial material but is only paid a pittance of that. The worker is robbed of the value that their labor put in.
Now if a worker tries to rebel against this system, they are put down by society. They can not compete against the large corporate entity, as it has more resources, can oppress more people etc. The worker is forced by hunger into continuing to sell their labor for a paltry wage that is in no way equal to the value they are adding.
