Organizing against Capitalism has always been incredibly difficult, their tools of the police, the army, the courts, the media, and the establishment all mesh together to make it difficult to overthrow and destroy.
Now, with Oil we have another problem. Everything, runs on oil. Your car runs on oil, the trucks which deliver goods runs on oil, everything made of plastic is based on oil.
Oil is the driving force of the world, it is used to manufacture, and deliver the goods that enslave us.
I really don't know the answer to how to organize against oil. I just know that organizing against it would be incredibly difficult.
We can all go ahead and boycott BP, but to boycott oil becomes nearly impossible. We could bicycle or walk etc. but we can't really boycott plastic.
Everywhere else where there's oil in the world people have to put up with massive economic exploitation and oil everywhere, Nigeria, Ecuador, etc... About time Americans felt what we put the rest of the world through.

this is truly disgusting. tbf, anyone who embraces the destruction of the lives, health, and livelihoods of thousands of working class people is absolute scum - all the more when they have some sort of pretension to being a communist.

Ultimately, the only way that the oil hold on the world is going to end is if a Leftist discovers Nuclear Fusion or some other new form of energy. From what I've heard, the US gov is only a few years away from accomplishing it, and many figure that it will transition society into a Class 1 society if you pay attention to that one theory... can't remember what it is called... however, it is worth noting that big oil has successfully murdered new innovations that should have reduced our dependence of oil decades ago... With this said, I'm beginning to form a theory on big oil called the "Shinra Effect." Once I have most of the parts figured out, I'll put it on here for evaluation... and if you play/played final fantasy VII you might have a clue to this theory already ;)

If all you care about is retribution against the working class of an imperialist country, then get the fuck off this forum. The workers the world over would be better served by revolution in the US and it's resources and industrial capability being put towards the even development of the 'Third world'. There is no need for such narrow-minded and simplistic comments.

I'm a Communist because I want to end suffering, not cause it. Its not the workers or average U.S citizen that is oppressing these people, it is Capitalism.

I'm currently working on avoiding plastic and the amount of gasoline I use = zero.
My town is pretty easy to navigate, so I really have no problems when it comes to non-oil modes of transportation.
I think there needs to be more awareness for simply walking and biking. There are a lot of people out there who will use up gallons of gas just for going incredibly short distances, when they could have easily done it without gas.

I don't even have a car and I bike about 20km a day for my job, so I agree that it's a good alternative (although arguably the Netherlands has a much better biking infrastructure and mentality compared to just about anywhere else on the planet). But how do you manage on bringing down the use of plastics? It's near omni-present in just the packing of many products you use in every day life, I don't see how you could avoid that very easily.
