Does anyone know where you could buy mens leather boots, like they wore in footloose?

I would not wear them where i live, due to the beatings i would get, but i want a pair to where in town and stuff, they are so awesome, but i like van halen and thought bon jovi was amazing, so what do i know.

BTW women comrades, would a man in boots be acceptable, or would you think "whata prick"?

Thanks

I wear boots; albeit they're doc martens. I do have a pair of boots with a heel and I don't get hassled or anything.
Unfortunately, I don't know Footloose well enough to give you advice. Go to a thrift store though, you'd be surprised at what you can find and for cheap.

You would be surprised what you find at thrift stores. I found a pair of, what seemed to be, never worn doc martens in my size for 6$

And it only cost 3$ at mart of wals for the red laces to style them up.

But I wouldn't think you'd be all that hassled about what you wear, because if anyone says anything, just tell em where they can shove it.

So wearing them at home would get you beat, but in town is okay? Weird.

I also think girls would dig it

Looks better than black on black. Plus I get the added benefit of having the stench of my feet be associated with red and black :D

Most people are aware that red laces on docs (or militaryish boots) are associated with neo-nazis who have shed blood for the "race war" or have drawn blood.

Like, it's so common knowledge that I would never put red laces on my shoes.

I thought it was white laces. Fuck. Well there goes my anarcho-communist loving feet.

Guess I'll have to "unearn" the blood. Anyone know necromancy?

Or I could just earn the color in the opposite manner... nah...

Also are there any colors that look good with black that could also show my political affiliation without the possibility of even being considered a fucktard...I mean a nazi?

You're right about the white-- white shoelaces simply mean "white power," but the red make symbolize what I mentioned last post, unfortunately-- but I would just use any colour but red or white, unfortunately. Green, blue, or whatever works is unrelated to fascism. I remember hearing about neo-nazis and those colour laces in high school so I wiki'd it after you posted to confirm, and it did. But if you want anything but black, use green, blue, or something as extravagent as purple (if you're comfortable with that). I understand that you want something other than black (which I use, just cause my work doesn't allow any colour laces, but I can wear docs with black laces), but yeah.

Also, I felt really bad saying that cause I knew that you were wearing red laces because of anarcho-communism or syndicalism (which I support!) so I felt like I needed to point it out. From what I know, more people know that red laces + military boots means neo-nazi than people would know red+black means anarcho-communism or syndicalism. That's why I pointed it out.

this is an invasion

Laces don't mean shit anymore in most places, unless you're a stupid poser. Or a neo-nazi. I wore red laces on my boots as a punk and as a skin. All my trad and SHARP friends wore white laces.

Also, if you're gonna talk about the meanings of colored laces for nazis... blue, yellow, green, etc., all mean things. They also mean things in the SHARP/trad scene, if you live in an area where dress codes still stand.

If you live in an area where dress codes stand, or there are lots of neo-nazis, and you're going to wear colored laces, then you should either be prepared to defend yourself or roll deep.

Sorry Marcos for hijacking your thread,

But yeah, I guess me wearing the red-laced docs with the military-esque looking jacket I got at New Navy because it was cheap as shit and semi-durable (I've worn it through 4 winters and the only scratches on it were from a motorcycle wreck) would look bad to the wrong people. But then again, it has gotten me in conversations with people about why I wear it stuff like that, to which I get to explain that the jacket was cheap as shit and that the laces represent my politics, to which I go into varying detail depending on whether or not I think they'd be able to comprehend the fact that I'm a leftist, a nice person, and not a child eating monster from the Cold War without their heads exploding.

I don't think Alabama is much into the color coded thing since even the biggest city isn't as urban as most other states/countries smaller large cities, so people don't have to "represent" as much. Besides all the racists here are in their little book-circle clubs, so they know one another. And they're mostly in the rural areas or suburbs, which sadly, is mostly segregated still.

This is why I just wear black laces. I'd rather just avoid all of that. Just like I'm not going to wear a red or blue bandanna, etc.
