Because I cannot think of another reason why I would be getting an e-mail with a discount on forklifts.

Screenshot please. You probably just had a web crawler catch your info then sold the information.

I was kinda quick with the spam button, unless there is a way to recover it? And yeah a webcrawler would make more sense.

Can't help you now, but here's a little trick for the future for you or anyone else if you use a gmail account.

Google mail ignores a '.' anywhere in your name so if your address is [email protected] and you sign up to a site with [email protected] you get the email as normal to your account but you can see that it was sent to [email protected] from the full email info.

How's this helpful?
Well, you can use it to track which websites sign you up to crap by putting the '.' in a different pa.rt of you.r addres.s for each place you provide an email up to the number of characters in your name, and if your forklift email was sent to [email protected] then you'll be able to say with certainty which site did it. I use this technique as I'm a spam/scam nerd.

That said, if your email address is something like joebloggs2019 then theres a good chance that it was fusked (all the numbers added to a popular name from joebloggs1-joebloggs9000) spammers can afford to send out lots of mail that will bounce.

Also, I would advise against emailing the person who sent you them, or following any link to prevent further spam emails from coming. This just tells the spammers that they have a valid email address.

I always just immediately hit the spam button.

Why can't I get spam advertising forklifts...

The last capitalist we run over shall be the one who sold us the forklift.

There's your first mistake. Not only does Hotmail have the worst spam filters on the innerwebs, they will actively give your address to spammers as well.

Not if he's logged out already. Most web based e-mail, Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo, etc, will automatically dump everything marked as spam the second you logout. On the other hand, some ISP provided e-mail doesn't. I used to get my service through a company called Knology, and with them you had to actively change some settings to get your account to do this automatically. Otherwise, even though it moved shit, it stayed in the relevant folder ad infinitum.

So they just expect you to send your credit card details over the internet and wait 6 to 8 weeks for a forklift to be delivered to your front door?
