The National Front of Popular Resistance (FNRP) represents the interests of all people who maintain the struggle against the current repressive, anti-democratic regime. The Resistance grows daily and extends throughout the nation joining the various social and political agendas into one, united project that has started to lay the foundation upon which a new Honduran society will be built.

After the June 28, 2009 coup d’etat that came amidst an already weak state of law, the small corporate group that kidnapped the legitimate president of Hondurans has maintained power through the violence of repressive forces (the National Police and the Armed Forces of Honduras), assassinating, beating, capturing, raping and forcing into exile hundreds of Hondurans. The coup powers that took out Manuel Zelaya Rosales are the same that now use Porfirio Lobo like a puppet in order to continue consolidating their violent regime.

What the criminals didn’t expect is the incredible bravery of the Honduran people that have now decided to struggle until the end. The Resistance is based in a Popular Power from the grassroots and in the direct participation from all sectors in the construction of a political proposal that responds to the serious crises Honduras is living through.

We move forward with the Constituent Assembly to establish the legal framework that will permit us to organize as a people to reclaim the destiny of our country and snatch it back from the dirty hands of the small group that has taken the government hostage.

People throughout the world have closely followed the emergence and consolidation of the resistance. We are now newly demonstrating our power with the presentation of over a million Sovereign Declarations in which as citizens we refuse to recognize this illegal and illegitimate government and we invite the population to convoke a new National Constituent Assembly.

This June 28 we complete our first anniversary as the National Front of Popular Resistance (FNRP) but we do not celebrate it by remembering the assault on our democracy by the coup powers. Rather, we celebrate the birth of true popular democracy that has started us on our path towards a new founding of the State and the construction of a just future for everyone, equally.

The Honduras Resistance invites all the people of the world to be part of this re-founding and revolutionary project, to closely follow it and to join in what will be the a celebration of the first year of this path towards victory.

We invite you to visit our official webpage www.resistenciahonduras.net (http://www.resistenciahonduras.net/)to learn about various activities people are organizing, to download the official documents and reports, and to involve yourself in this date of resistance, as it is not only ours but it belongs to all the people of the world who are in the struggle.

The National Resistance Front invites all people, organizations, or groups of compañeros and compañeras who have been in solidarity with the Honduran people to join us with political activities to put pressure on the regime.

This June 28 no voice with go unheard and each protest, march, communication, forum or meeting will support the Hondurans who will massively go out into the streets to strongly proclaim that today we will build true Popular Power in our country.

We appreciate in advance all of the planned actions and we will share them with our contacts in order to grow our networks and demonstrate to all of the Honduran people that we are not alone, that people all over the world struggle for Honduras on the frontlines of justice and dignity.

We send an embrace of solidarity in Resistance to you, Internationalist Compañeras y Compañeros.

International Commission (CI)- National Front of Popular Resistance
