I just finished my last book, "King Leopold's Ghost" by Adam Hothschild, about the first genocide in the modern era during the late 1800's in Congo, and want to know if there are any good political books you can suggest, Since I want to begin a new one.

any ideas for what I should read next? :D

Cuba In Revolution By Antoni Kapcia.

The State And Rev By Lenin.

Marx And Marxism By Peter Worsley.

I would also reccomend reading books by people of differing ideologies.

I am planning to read some Bukanin.

I am also going to read the wealth of nations and the US constitution, only a man who does not believe in his own convictions is scared to read the enemies arguement for fear of falling to his Ideas and ideals.

This is why I read the Economist.

A book I really enjoyed, even though it isn't particularly leftist, was The State of Africa by Marting Meredith. It is an overview of the national liberation struggles fought in Africa and their historical legacy. Many of them were Marxists and it's nice to have an overview of Africa's struggle, as my understanding is that not many comrades know much about them.

Bakunin is a very good read, even if I disagree on many of his positions regarding religion and social origins; however, I agree with you 100% about reading "enemy" literature; it seems that only people who have weak beliefs are afraid of reading opposing views, as if that they do, their whole entire world shatters...thus I always admire those who can read more than just their own party literature.

hence why I bought the audio tapes to Mein Kampf, and I read the stormfront website forums all the time  lol
