I love Quebec! Lots of great culture and music comes from out east. Love the accent too
Saw this punk band during the Olympics, they were pretty good, but most of the BC crowd were telling them to "Go back to Kebbek you Frenchie bastards!" Typical West coasters

Dude, don't take this the wrong way because I actually dug the song, but that isn't punk. At best it could be called pop-emo/post-hardcore, similar to Hawthorne Heights or Placebo. To put it another way, exactly how much do you think Vulgaires Machins have in common with these guys:

Yeah I wasn't sure what to classify it as, but punk is a pretty wide genre. I mean, if The Clash's Sandinista! album, or the Jam are "punk," I don't see why this wouldn't be considered some type of punk.
Regardless of what genre/sub-genre one would classify them as, they're a solid Quebecois band
EDIT: Now that you've posted an Agnostic Front video, I'd have to say that hardcore punk isn't quite the same as punk. See, punk is very diverse.

Bleck I've heard all that before, that punk ended in 1980 and what not, but I don't buy it. And I know punk's diverse, which is how bands like Flogging Molly and Gogol Bordello wind up in the punk section of your local indie record store. My point is that whatever sub-genre of emo you're talking about, it doesn't belong being lumped in with punk. Also, not that I'm disagreeing with your classification of Agnostic Front, but I'm pretty sure they'd physically assault you if you told them you didn't think they were punk.
EDIT: Just to reiterate, I do like the song you originally posted. Just don't agree with calling them punk.

Yeah no worries, I just think punk is really diverse and really getting into nitty-gritty subgenres sometimes get silly.
I'm not saying punk ended in 1980, there are lots of good modern punk bands (Propagandhi!). I just wanted to highlight some bands that are generally considered punk don't sound like "typical" punk.

I both disagree and agree with you, Bilan. I agree that DK are, but you'll never convince me that AF aren't, and I know plenty of old skool hXc kids that would agree with me, but whatever... *shrugs* Not an argument I care to have because the only thing that punks seem to agree on in terms of what's actually punk is disagreements over what is or isn't punk rock. If that makes any sort of sense at all...

Fair enough. Nothing I'd disagree with here.:)

Coming up in Briz is the St Pauls Carnival. I imagine it's like Notting Hill only not colonised by the bourgeoisie.

Even though it has some awful stereotypes, this video is pretty funny:laugh:
